Good morning and welcome to the artist morning.
My name is Darius and I am so excited,
So honored to be here with you this morning.
Wherever you are in the world,
Whatever you're going through,
We are here together.
We are carving out some space just for us,
Just for our hearts to feel,
For us to connect,
And for us to explore what's here and accessible for us this morning.
Today's meditation is going to be a little different.
We are going to travel through time and space and connect with our ancient ancestors.
We are going to lovingly,
Playfully,
And maybe profoundly be with their energy and take in any guidance,
Any wisdom they might have for us.
I will guide you the whole way,
You do not need to overthink anything.
Some of this,
Yes,
Will involve your head and your thinking mind,
But most of it will live in your body and your heart.
Let's begin our meditation this morning if your eyes are open.
I invite you to close them now as we go inwards together.
Taking a few easy breaths,
With each inhale going a little deeper,
With each exhale letting just a little bit more air and maybe any stagnant energy that no longer serves you,
Just let it go with your exhales.
As we breathe deeply and slowly,
We allow our nervous system to feel safe,
Supported this morning.
Sometimes our voice in the morning is a little shy and even for something as simple as an exhale,
It doesn't want to make a sigh noise and that's okay.
If your voice wants to stay quiet this morning,
It's 100% okay.
And if your voice is ready to take up some space in this room during this meditation and maybe in the world,
This is a great warm up.
Taking a nice deep breath in,
Filling your lungs in every direction,
Filling them up and then letting it all go.
Hello beloved voice.
Hello thank you for all you do.
Even when you're quiet,
Thank you.
As we continue to slow down our breathing,
Slow down our nervous system and just begin to tap in to the energy of our heart space.
Your mind might try to bring the energy up to your head space and that's okay.
That's what minds do sometimes,
Racing,
Thinking about all the things,
The projects,
The relationships,
The conversations,
There's so much.
I get it.
If you'd like to put that on pause just for a little,
It's simple.
Just breathe deep and long into your heart,
Really connecting with the breath.
Every place it touches on your body,
Just notice it.
The tips of your lips,
Your tongue,
Your throat as it travels down your lungs into your belly and comes back up and interacts with your heart.
Just feel it.
Be there with it.
It's the simple things,
The simple things that always bring us back to what matters,
Bring us back to our hearts.
It's amazing that a few deep breaths can change so much.
I want to invite us now to begin our journey as we travel through time and space.
We are going to go back to a moment in our ancestry.
No need to overthink this.
We are playing this morning,
Dear artist.
You can't get this wrong.
I want you to remember and imagine a time and place with no electricity,
With no internet,
No phones,
No social media,
No consumerism,
No capitalism.
Things were much,
Much simpler.
As you go back in time and start to see nature everywhere,
Can you hear the birds?
Can you smell the sense of nature wherever you are?
Can you feel the collective energy of the planet and how much lighter it is?
Things are simpler here.
We lived off the land.
For many of us,
We lived in small village communities.
And we did not go out to be in nature.
We were nature.
That's our natural state,
To be at one with nature.
Just feel that for a moment.
Being at one with nature.
Just for a few moments,
If you feel ready,
If you feel safe,
Allow the knowing of technology,
Of our modern world just to fade away.
Distant distant memory.
For you are in a very different place.
Trees,
Forests,
Mountains,
Everywhere.
As you look down to your own feet,
There are no shoes,
There are no socks.
You are one with nature.
Can you take a moment just to feel your feet on the ground now?
Can you hear that babbling river so soothing?
Can you hear the children playing together?
The connection of your community,
Real life connection.
Can you start to see and feel the energy of your ancient ancestors here?
Don't overthink it.
Just feel,
Play,
Imagine and remember.
Taking a moment to really look around this space,
This ancient space that feels more real than anything else because it's alive right now.
What's around you?
What do you feel?
What do you hear?
Is it amazing that humans are coexisting,
Are thriving,
Are connecting in community in real life without all the things,
All the tech?
The simple things.
These simple things that we still have access to now.
Seeing the energy of your ancestors surrounding you in a sacred circle,
Transmitting love,
Support,
And deep,
Deep wisdom to you.
They don't need to say a single thing,
But there is a communication here for you.
They are sharing deep wisdom for you here.
They have a question for you,
Dear artist.
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why have you chosen this planet at this time with this human?
Just listen and feel what comes up for you when you think about that question.
Why are you here?
And before our meditation comes to an end,
I invite us to sit here in silence together in the profound simplicity that is available to us here.
And if you are ready and willing,
Receive any wisdom your ancestors have for you here this morning.
What really matters to you?
When we take it all away,
All the pop culture,
All the tech,
All the social programming,
All the constructs of modern life.
What matters to you?
Staying as open as you can to receive wisdom from ancestors,
Beloved,
Benevolent,
Deeply wise ancestors.
And as our meditation comes to an end,
I invite you to share some gratitude for the time you got with your ancestors this morning,
Just share it with them,
Thanking them for all they have done to get you and me to this point here.
We're going to take another deep breath as we return to our bodies,
As we return to the seats and the rooms in which we started the meditation.
We are back here,
But perhaps something has shifted,
Something is different.
Wherever you went,
Whatever you felt,
However open or closed you were,
Thank you for meditating with me this morning.
My name is Darius and it was an honor to meditate with you.
For those of us joining us live this morning,
I will put 15 minutes on the clock for some private personal journaling.
And if you're catching this on a replay,
You can do the same 15 minutes on your clock and just feel and express whatever's here and real for you.
Thank you and we'll see you next time.
