Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and today's meditation practice is going to be a little different.
A lot of time meditation is intended to help calm people,
Ground people.
And today's meditation is rather a wake-up call.
It's intended to help all of us wake up to places in our lives that we might be asleep,
We might be avoiding,
And if we're ready to let go,
To let go of anything in our life that is holding us back,
Holding us down,
Keeping us asleep.
By letting go,
There's an opportunity for us to make space for new energy,
New creativity,
New relationships.
As with all my meditations,
Everything is an invitation.
You choose how much you want to lean in,
Resist,
Or even stand still.
Before we go in,
Just take a moment to notice how your mind,
Your body,
Your heart is impacted by what I just shared.
What do you feel?
What's here for you?
The idea of waking up and letting go can be confronting.
It can be uncomfortable.
If you're not open or ready to it,
That's okay.
Sit back in your seat and just let this time go by.
But maybe there is something inside you that is ready.
Maybe there is something inside you that is deeply longing to let go,
To forgive.
Maybe it's someone else it's time to let go and forgive.
Maybe it's yourself.
For many of us,
Somewhere along the line,
We are taught to compare,
To compete,
And that energy can get very heavy.
Instead of win or lose,
I'd like to plant a seed inside your heart.
What if you and I decided to let go of the paradigm of win and lose,
And open our hearts to win or grow?
Today,
I choose to believe that I either win or I grow.
Each experience an opportunity,
But first,
You'll need to let go of expectations,
Of comparison,
And even competition.
Today I choose to let go of expectations,
Comparison,
And competition.
Take a moment to feel the impact of that statement.
Maybe you don't want to let go of it,
And maybe you're ready.
By letting go,
You and I make space for new energy,
New creativity,
New opportunities.
Take a moment now to confront,
To sit with any resistance inside you.
This is a wake-up call.
This is intended to make you a little uncomfortable.
There are places inside your mind,
Body,
Heart that you have shut off,
That you have put to sleep.
This is an opportunity to reconnect with those parts.
What are you ready to let go of?
Come on.
In the silence,
Sometimes our hearts can speak the loudest.
How is your heart in this moment?
Is there something your heart is ready to let go of?
Is there something your heart is unwilling to let go of?
Is it okay to just having that awareness can be helpful?
Let's take a deep breath together here as we get ready to go into our final song this morning.
Breathing in and letting it all go.
With this last song,
There's one final seed that I'd like to plant inside our hearts with your permission.
I want to give you one song just to play,
Experience,
Explore what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
Often times things happen to us,
We get hurt,
We compare,
We compete,
And our expectations are not met,
And we walk around wounded with the energy of maybe or no.
I want you to experience what it could be like if you embodied the energy of yes.
Even as I said the words yes,
I had a smile on my face and a smile in my heart.
I'm going to stay quiet and meet you at the end of this song.
I want you to experience what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
I want you to experience what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
I want you to experience what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
I want you to experience what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
I want you to experience what it could be like for you to embody the energy of yes.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
As I mentioned before,
This was likely not the easiest,
Most calming meditation we've done.
Maybe it brought things up for you,
Maybe it got you excited,
And maybe a little bit of both.
But you made it.
You're hearing my voice now,
You made it to the end,
And I honor and respect you for that.
You're joining us live at the artist's morning,
I'm going to open up the space to 20 minutes of private personal journaling to continue exploring and seeing what's there for us.
You're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer.
Of course you can do the same,
Put some time on your clock and see what's ready to express through your pen and paper.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
