Welcome sweet beings.
We are going to do a little bit of the money meditation today.
A little practice around the idea of money,
Finances,
And wealth.
And so at first here I invite you into a comfortable position.
We know that can look a little bit different on every body,
So adjusting as needed,
Adjusting accordingly.
A lot of the meditation work that we do is in a seated position,
But if you'd like to lie down or rest against a wall,
You most certainly are invited to do so.
And you might even take a moment to kind of distance yourself from distraction,
The simple things,
The turning off of the phone,
The closing of the computer screen,
Maybe the turning down of the lights in the room.
You might shrug your shoulders or squeeze your hands together,
Maybe clenching the jaw and then feeling the relaxation that comes after doing so.
And then the eyes are invited to close here,
But if it doesn't feel comfortable or relaxing,
You might just find a soft gaze somewhere in your room.
And then let's begin how we often do,
With a deeper breath in through the nose and a big exhale out of the mouth.
We begin to pay attention to the rhythm of the breath.
The rhythm of the breath often creates a sense of calm throughout the body,
Especially when we begin to naturally slow it down.
And so we start here in this place of connection with the breath and relaxation in the body.
And then we're going to start exploring our connection to money.
I want you to ask yourself what you think about money.
Very often we have specific thoughts around the idea of money,
Whether it's good or whether it's bad,
Whether it's something we have or whether it's something we don't have.
Sometimes we have the idea that it's evil or God sent.
So I want you to take a few moments here to just ask yourself,
What is your thought about money?
We can ask ourselves what we often say about money.
We can ask ourselves what is our relationship to money.
How about the bills that you have,
The debt,
The loans,
Maybe perhaps your mortgage or car payment,
The electricity bill,
A phone bill.
What is your relationship to these things?
How do you feel when they're around,
When you receive them in the mail or on your computer?
Often there is a very,
Very specific reaction to money or the bills that we receive.
How about asking yourself what is your thoughts around wealthy people?
Do you like them?
Do you have them around?
Are you one of them?
As we start to investigate our relationship to money,
We often find pretty strong patterns in our lives.
And some of these patterns are debilitating.
Some of these patterns are things that we've learned from other people or as we've grown.
And sometimes we get to a point in our lives where we're ready to shift our idea of money,
Our relationship with money,
Our paradigm around money.
But it's really important to gain insight on where we stand in that relationship to finances and to wealth.
And so as you are asking these really strong and powerful inquisitive questions,
I want you to notice what's building in your heart space.
Sometimes as soon as someone mentions the word money or bills or loans,
Or finances or wealth,
We can feel the heart react along with the head.
And when we're looking to change our relationship to money,
We have to recognize that it's not only our thoughts around money that need to change,
But our heart's reaction to money as well.
And you might find that there's a lot of constriction,
That the heart closes,
Or there's some intense tightness within the heart space.
You may find just the opposite,
That the heart opens,
And there's joy and gratitude.
But it's important to gain this insight.
And there's a quote that says,
The first step to change is insight,
And there is no substitution for insight.
And we begin by noticing,
Noticing,
Noticing this practice of mindfulness turning inward.
We might begin to recognize that we need to build a new foundation from which our ideas and thoughts around money and finances and wealth is built.
So now that we've asked ourselves some of these questions,
We're going to do a little bit of visualization.
I want you to imagine yourself in your own mind's eye.
And I want you to imagine that you yourself are holding a lot of money.
To some of us that might be $1,
000,
And to others $100,
000,
To others $1,
000,
000 or $1,
000,
000.
And it doesn't matter the amount.
I want you to imagine that you're holding a lot of money,
Whatever that feels like to you.
It could be in a basket or a box,
A bag or in your palms.
And then I want you to imagine that this money is so real that you can smell the aroma of the money.
I want you to imagine that that smell,
That aroma puts a smile on your face.
And then I want you to imagine saying to yourself,
I am grateful for money.
I love money.
Money comes to me in heaps.
This is a good thing.
I am always taken care of.
I always have enough money.
Money is magical.
Money helps me make connections.
I have so much money that I like to give it away.
Money is a blessing,
And I accept it openly with both hands.
I am blessed with money.
And as you are here with a whole heap of money in a box or a bag or in your palms or in a basket,
I want you to imagine that that place of the heart,
The heart space,
Grows immensely big with gratitude.
And that the places in your heart that might have closed off before to the idea of money are free to open.
I want you to imagine that this money that you're holding pays all your bills.
It pays all your loans.
That this money is more than enough,
Always.
That the source of this money is unlimited.
And the worry and the fear you may have had around money and wealth and finances before,
It just melts away.
Imagine yourself sitting there,
Holding on to this money as a representation of your own freedom,
Your own happiness,
Your own wealth,
Your own joy.
And bask in that sensation,
Bask in that feeling within your own heart.
This open,
Honest and grateful connection to money is always available.
It's always there.
And we can return to it day after day,
Especially in the moments when we start to feel our heart constrict around the idea of money or finances or wealth.
Slow by slow,
We start to build a stronger,
Happier and healthier connection to money.
I want you to return your attention to your breath.
Feel it move in and out of the body.
And then let's take a big,
Nourishing inhale,
Deep,
Deep breath and let it go.
You may take a moment to just linger here in this place.
And when you're ready,
Open the eyes and shift the body.
You might turn on the light,
Take a breath.
Reminding yourself that you can always return to this meditation,
Or the sensation in your heart of freedom,
Joy and happiness over and over again.
From my heart directly to yours.
Namaste.
