This beautiful practice provides a simple and effective way to activate the entire energy body through focusing on the chakra poles of Mooladhara at the base, and Sahasrara at the Crown, then connecting them simultaneously. It runs a felt flow of prana through the system, leaving the practitioner with a clear lift in mood, rebalancing, and a lightness of the body. It also illuminates the responsiveness of the chakras to present awareness.

Simple Sushumna activation.

I want you to bring all of your awareness now down to your base chakra,

Mooladhara.

To find a physical anchor point you can pull up the pelvic floor as firmly as possible and then gently release the tension in the pelvic floor just to the point where you'll feel like you're holding a pea.

Gently active.

And once you've got an anchor point from Mooladhara,

Start to use your breath now,

Breathing the inhalation down,

Streaming the energy breath into the base,

Mooladhara.

And as you breathe out,

You're simply draining the breath away,

Retaining and concentrating all of the prana in each breath.

Breathing down,

Flooding Mooladhara in the base and the legs with vital life force.

And as you breathe out,

Simply drain the breath.

And continue in this way,

Pegging your awareness and streaming prana through the breath to Mooladhara,

Your base chakra.

And gently,

Gently with awareness,

You'll feel the chakra stir to meet your attention.

You can visualise the beautiful blood,

Red light,

Starting to glimmer and fill and expand the whole base of your body as Mooladhara activates.

This is your taproot.

Your right to be here now in this life.

This is presence,

Space and time.

This is security,

Tribe,

Belonging,

Lineage and ancestors.

This is your gateway to the energy of the earth.

You need to build the prana in this beautiful centre,

Mooladhara,

Blood red.

When the energy at this gateway becomes concentrated enough,

It will naturally start to rise towards the heart.

See if you can lean into this natural,

Beautiful rising within you.

Your earth aspect,

Your physical system,

Now filling with earth based prana.

And use the polarity of your breath now as you're breathing in,

Draw the prana up from the earth beneath you through Mooladhara towards your heart.

As you breathe out,

You focus that line of energy,

So breathing in,

Drawing up from the earth beneath you through Mooladhara to the heart.

As you breathe out,

The track of energy flashes.

With the flow now established and running,

Bring all of your awareness now to the crown,

Sahasrara.

And feed the crown with your awareness and with the vital life force in the breath.

Every time you breathe in,

See the air streaming upwards now and pooling under the scalp at the crown of your head.

And as you breathe out,

You're simply draining the breath.

Every breath now pouring energy into Sahasrara.

You may be able to see the area at the top of the skull,

Above the head,

A beautiful violet,

White light growing and shimmering with your awareness.

Continue in this way of breathing into Sahasrara.

And as you breathe out,

You're concentrating the energy there.

You may feel a very gentle pressure at the crown of the head or the feeling of movement under the scalp,

A sense of expansion.

Sahasrara.

This is your universal transpersonal point.

This is the seat of your knowing and your right to know.

As Sahasrara opens,

A beautiful stream of etheric prana now starts to run down through Sahasrara into your body,

Irresistibly drawn to the earth current in your heart.

And use your breath to bring it down as you breathe in,

Drawing etheric prana down through Sahasrara,

Down into the heart.

Using your awareness now and taking in both the base point and the crown point at the same time.

Breathing the descending stream and the ascending stream of energy right through your whole system.

Feel the meeting and swirling in the heart.

In the chest itself,

You're feeling expansion,

A deeper breath,

A slight vibration or hum,

The feeling of promise.

Stay with your breath and this spiral of light in your heart center.

Very gently now bringing your awareness back to your body,

The posture of your body,

The natural breath.

Very gently bring some movement to the toes and the fingers.

You can move the head in lovely big circles atop the shoulders and then back around to the opposite direction,

Increasing blood flow to the upper vertebrae,

Blood to the brain.

Extend your awareness and become aware of the dimensions of the space that you're in.

Your practice of Sushumna activation is now complete.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.
