Find yourself a comfortable position.

You can sit upright on the floor or lie horizontal if that feels better.

Close your eyes and let your body start to melt into softness.

This is your time to let go of your stresses and slow down.

You have nowhere to be.

You have nothing to do for the duration of this meditation.

This time is for you.

This time is necessary.

We all need to slow down to quieten our mind and soften ourselves in order to expand and to grow.

You might have some thoughts drift into your awareness and that's okay.

Let them pass and return to your breath.

Take a long,

Slow inhale.

Take a long,

Slow exhale.

Be here with your breath.

You can always come back to your breath.

I am breathing in.

I am breathing out.

Your breath is always here for you.

It supports you.

It is your life force.

It is home.

Returning to your breath is coming home.

I am breathing in.

I am breathing out.

Tune now into your body.

Notice where your body makes contact with the ground,

With the earth.

Feel the heaviness of this contact.

Melt even further into the floor,

Letting go of all the tension you are holding.

Notice where that tension is.

Notice where you might be aching.

Breathe in a long,

Intentional breath and direct it towards that area of tension or aching.

Continue to breathe life force into this area.

Remember that your breath is always here to support you.

Your breath is always here to heal you.

Imagine now a small patch of light illuminating over this ache,

As if you were shining a flashlight on it.

That light is growing brighter as you continue to breathe life force into it.

Your breath is expanding this light,

Making it more and more bright.

Continue to breathe light to this spot.

Thank this pain for communicating a need to you.

Pain is our body's way of communicating needs to us.

Your awareness of that is healing it.

Continue to breathe light to this tension.

Imagine now that this light is spreading.

It's spreading the whole way through your body,

Encapsulating your whole body.

You are now radiating with light.

This light is now spreading from you and your contact points with the earth and rooting into the ground below you.

This is connecting you with the earth.

This is grounding you.

See this light extending upward from the crown of your head towards the sky.

Connecting you with your higher self.

Opening you up to all possibilities.

Opening you up to all healing.

You are infinite.

You are loved.

You are light.

I have rheumatoid arthritis which weather change & humidity exacerbates. This was helpful in the moment. Might have to replay. I also have sciatica. Chronic pain is a bitch. Is this meditation based on Reiki? Healing energy? I had a random stranger notice my pain & perform some Reiki on me. I was astonished. The pain disappeared! But it was fleeting it only lasted about a half hour. How do we get lasting results so we can be active & live our lives?
