Today on Struck Inside Out,
The art of letting go.
A meditation for release and renewal.
Let's begin by closing our eyes and connecting to our breath.
Take a big inhale through your nose and exhale deeply through your mouth.
Take another inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Take the deepest inhale that you've done yet,
Cleansing your system and release with the largest exhale that you've done yet through your mouth.
Continue with a few more deep breaths on your own.
What is one thing that you want to release that no longer serves you?
What are you holding on to that you can let go of?
What do you no longer want to carry into a new day?
Connect to the feeling of what you want to release.
Feel the discomfort,
Pain,
Or any other emotion that comes forward when you tap into the weight of this presence in your life.
Breathe into the sensation.
Feel it.
Honor it.
Thank it.
Envision what you want to release,
Whether it is a person,
Relationship,
Habit,
Or thing.
And imagine it taking the form of a dove.
Hold the dove in the palms of your hands.
And now think of any memory that is tied to what you want to release.
If it's a relationship,
Think of the memories that you want to let go of.
If it's a quality about yourself,
Such as pessimism or being judgmental,
Think of the times when you embodied those traits.
If you want to release a pattern,
Like not trusting other people or closing your heart when you want it to be open,
Recall the times that you repeated that pattern.
Imagine all of those memories,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
And experiences going into the heart of the dove that's resting in your hands.
The dove is happy and willing to take those memories from you so you can be free.
And now,
As the dove contains all that you want to release,
Open the palms of your hands and watch as it flies away,
Further and further out of sight,
Higher and higher into the sky,
Above the clouds,
Toward the Sun and the Moon,
And even higher until you can't see it anymore.
Now,
What remains here in this space?
What's left when you no longer have to carry that heavy weight?
Breathe here for a few moments.
Feel into this new space,
This new body,
This new mind,
This new light.
How freeing it is.
How beautiful it is.
How much ease there is when we can learn to let go of what no longer serves us,
When we can learn to trust ourselves,
To honor our unique path,
To choose ourselves.
Take a few moments to sit in this space and see what emotions and images arise for the new life that awaits you,
The new person you're becoming,
The one you have always wanted to be.
Can you feel this life being real for you?
Do you trust yourself to guide you toward where you dream to be?
You have everything you need within you for your dreams to become a reality.
Believe that it's possible and continue following your heart.
You are already what you wish to be.
Place both hands on your heart.
Take a deep breath and let it go.
Thank yourself for taking the time to be with yourself today,
For being brave,
For choosing positive change,
For facing the vast and mysterious unknown.
And when you're ready,
Bring some movement back into your body.
And whenever you're ready,
Open your eyes.
