Welcome to this guided sleep meditation.

Find a comfortable position,

Either lying down or sitting,

And allow yourself to settle in.

This time is for you to relax,

Unwind,

And connect with the peaceful energy around you.

Let's begin by grounding ourselves and anchoring our energy to the earth and connecting us to the divine.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Feel the weight of your body pressing gently into the surface beneath you.

Imagine roots,

Like those of a great sequoia tree,

Extending from the base of your spine,

Reaching deep into the earth.

With each breath,

Visualize these roots growing deeper and deeper,

Anchoring you solidly to the ground,

To Mother Earth.

Now,

Let's connect upward.

Visualize a warm,

Radiant,

Pure white light sitting above you,

Representing divine energy.

As you breathe in,

Imagine this light flowing slowly down through the crown of your head,

Filling your body with warmth and love.

Feel it merging with your energy and the grounding energy of the earth,

Creating a beautiful channel that connects the earth below and the heavens above.

You are now a bridge between these two energies,

Grounded and open.

Set your intention in your mind that you are ready to drift into a tranquil night's sleep.

Now take a moment to focus on your breath.

Inhale deeply and hold,

And exhale slowly.

With each breath,

Feel your body becoming more relaxed.

Inhale calmness and exhale tension.

As you continue these deep breaths,

Inhale peace and exhale stress and strife.

Let's do this a few more times.

Inhale deeply and hold,

And exhale.

Inhale,

Hold,

And exhale.

One last time.

Inhale deeply,

Hold,

And exhale.

Now continue breathing normally and comfortably as I invite you to imagine yourself standing outside a welcoming winter cabin on the side of a tranquil snow-covered mountain.

It is dusk and the sun is slowly sinking behind the mountains,

Painting the sky with shades of purple and red and blue and orange.

As the light of this wonderful day fades,

The first twinkling stars begin to appear against the darkening landscape of the night sky.

The mountain air is crisp and cold,

Yet refreshing and rejuvenating.

You can smell the aroma of a fresh fire burning in the hearth inside the cabin,

And the warm golden lights through the windows are calling you to enter.

Feel the crunch of snow beneath your boots as you walk slowly up the few strong,

Solid wooden stairs leading to the cabin's front porch.

You stand in front of a beautiful front door made of wood and stained glass.

The colors of the glass dance in the fading light,

Creating a kaleidoscope of beautiful hues.

You reach out your hand and turn the weathered but sturdy doorknob,

And as the lock clicks open,

You gently push the door and step inside.

As you step into the cabin,

You kick the snow off of your boots as you remove them and replace them with a pair of comfortable,

Embroidered woolen slippers.

Then you remove your warm winter outer clothes and hang them on the hooks near the door.

As you breathe comfortably to relax,

You take a moment to look around the cabin.

The wide,

Strong wooden plank floors are adorned with colorful thick woolen area carpets,

Woven in ancient traditions by local artisans.

A few feet in front of you,

You see the back of a large,

Comfortable,

Deep burgundy-colored sofa.

It sits in front of a grand,

Rustic fireplace made of wood and natural stones collected from the mountain.

Within the hearth,

A roaring,

Crackling fire blazes,

Spitting embers of all colors.

The warm,

Familiar aroma you noticed outside the cabin now wraps around you like a comforting blanket.

You feel safely drawn to the fire and make your way around the right side of the sofa.

You notice several billowy,

Comfortable pillows placed carefully upon its cushions.

As you take your place in front of the sofa,

You gently move a couple of pillows aside to make space for yourself and you sink into the sofa's embrace.

You breathe normally and comfortably as you relax.

You kick off your slippers and hear as they thump and fall to the floor and then you hoist your legs up onto the sofa so that you are reclining comfortably and naturally.

You are immediately relaxed and can feel the stress of the day dissolve.

As your head settles into one of the pillows,

Your eyelids at once begin to feel heavy but you struggle to keep your eyes open as you stare intently into the flames of the crackling fire.

Your eyes slowly go in and out of focus as you watch the warming flames dance.

The golden yellow colors with occasional flashes of orange and red and even hints of green and blue are absolutely mesmerizing and hypnotic.

With each flicker,

Your body feels heavier against the sofa as if the weight of relaxation is enveloping you.

Notice how no two patterns of the flames are exactly the same.

They are beautiful in their uniqueness.

As they crackle and pop,

You see the firework patterns of embers floating gently up the chimney,

Carried by the waves of warm air as they are delivered into the night sky.

Roll your shoulders back and release any residual tension that may be lingering.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,

Feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation.

Your eyelids are now heavier still and you find it harder and harder to resist their weight.

With your next breath,

Allow them to close gently and completely,

Surrendering to their intention.

As the warmth of the fire embraces you,

You feel totally safe,

Relaxed,

Centered and completely at peace.

Allow yourself now to drift slowly off into the land of pleasant dreams that await you.

You are in a place of comfort,

Surrounded by warmth and love,

Ready to embrace the tranquility of sleep.

Continue to breathe and relax and as this meditation comes to a close,

Give thanks for this wonderful experience that nature has provided and remember that this experience is now uniquely yours.

You can return to this peaceful cabin and the warmth of the fire whenever you wish.

Take a moment to appreciate this feeling of utter relaxation and calm and peace.

Breathe normally and naturally and sink further into the comfort of your surroundings.

Look forward to the peace that awaits you.

My voice seems softer and more distant with each breath that you take.

As I leave you in the best of hands,

You enter a world of rejuvenating rest.

When you are ready,

Allow yourself to drift.

Drift off into a deep,

Restful sleep.

Drift slowly,

Drift safely and drift comfortably.

Good night and sweet dreams.
