Welcome in.
I'm excited to share this space with you today.
We'll be using our breath as a tool,
As an object of compassion,
Not only for ourselves,
For the people around us,
For the things around us,
For the moments that make us alive.
You can begin to settle into your body,
Into your mind,
Into your breath,
Inhaling in and out through your nose.
Can you notice the change in temperature?
Oxygen flows through your nostrils,
Down your throat,
Throughout your body,
From your fingertips to your hips and your toes,
Up your thighs and your torso,
Cradling your face and your head.
At your own pace,
Begin to breathe deeper,
More intimately.
You may notice some tension in your jaw or in your face.
Maybe your shoulders have risen up close to your ears.
With each inhale,
This tension has a space to dissolve,
Has a space to be let free.
Knowing that this is a safe space in your mind and in your body,
I'll invite you to think about a moment,
An event,
Or a memory that makes you feel pure love.
That's not something that feels accessible to you right now.
That's okay.
Meet yourself where you are,
Whether you've envisioned an image or a person or a place.
I'll invite you to drop everything else and stay with the feeling.
What does unconditional love feel like in your body?
With each inhale,
You feel this love spread throughout your limbs.
This energizing force begins to leave your body,
Starts to touch the people,
The places,
And the things around you,
Covering the trees,
The little insects that you may feel on your skin,
The people that have provided support,
The people that have given you an opportunity to overcome a challenge.
It's very easy to love those around you that bring you joy,
That bring you happiness.
Can you offer love to the people who you simply do not like,
To the people who give you a hard time?
Imagine this love continuing to spread throughout the city,
Throughout the country,
Eventually to all the people around the world.
You don't lose any of this love that you have acquired within your own body by sharing it with others.
This energy is simply a reminder that love can be found in the most challenging moments,
The shiniest of days,
The rock bottoms of challenges.
Imagine now what the world would look like if we all had just a little bit more love for ourself,
A little bit more love for our neighbors,
Just a little bit more love for the things that make us alive.
This love so profound you can't help but feel a smile across your face,
Feel the relaxation in your body,
Knowing that this is possible,
That you can put this into practice.
You can begin to deepen your breath,
Begin to invite some movement into your body as we leave this space and take the love we've acquired throughout our day,
Throughout our weeks,
Our months,
Years.
On your next inhale,
I'll invite you to open your eyes if you had them closed.
Notice the changes in your environment from just a few moments ago.
How can you show yourself love today?
How can you share that with others?
