This is a meditation for Leo season.

Leo season is a time for fiery energy and self-expression.

Leo is ruled by the sun and it inspires us to be bold and courageous when pursuing our goals and dreams.

During this time we are invited to embrace our inner light and express ourselves confidently.

The heart and spine are associated with Leo season.

So before we get into a meditation,

I'll invite you to take a deep breath and place your hands at the base of your spine.

With each breath,

Move your hands up your spine until you get to the top of your head.

Take some time to notice how your body moves when you inhale and exhale,

Noticing the curvature of your spine as you move through your lumbar and thoracic and getting to your neck or your cervical spine.

Your spinal cord holds your nervous system and the nervous system is the command center that sends signals and messages throughout your body.

In this meditation,

You'll get grounded to allow for a heart and brain coherence,

Strengthening the connection between the body and mind,

Ultimately giving you permission to be your authentic self for this Leo season.

I invite you now to get into a comfortable and supported position,

Whether that is seated on a cushion or in a chair or even lying down.

Find a neutral pelvis.

It's helpful to imagine that your belly button is touching your spine without tucking in your belly,

But allowing for support and balance in your sit bones.

Take a deep breath and lift your shoulders up,

Back and down,

Opening up your chest.

Your palms can be placed on your lap,

On your belly,

Even on your chest if that's what feels comfortable with your palms facing upwards or down.

Take a deep breath here and it often is helpful to tilt your chin down just a little bit and allow for your tongue to touch the tip of your roof in your mouth.

You are invited to keep your eyes open or closed throughout this meditation.

Whatever feels accessible to your body today is what I would recommend.

Take the deepest breath you've taken this far today and allow for a natural flow in and out through your nose.

You may help to notice the sensations and the change in temperature with each inhalation and exhalation.

During this meditation,

It is very possible and normal for ideas to come up,

For to-do lists and thoughts and even bodily sensations or noises.

And when that does,

All you have to do is take notice and then let it go.

Using your breath,

Give yourself permission to be alive and to tend to your body for the next few minutes.

With your next inhale,

Notice the sensations within your body,

With your spine and with your heart.

And when you exhale,

Allow for any tension that may be lingering to be released.

In Leo season,

We celebrate the essence of the lion,

Representing courage and leadership.

I invite you now to embrace this energy within yourself.

We'll do this together by taking in a deep breath and visualizing a golden light shining bright at your center,

At your core.

Now this light illuminates your unique gifts and talents.

With each breath,

This light begins to expand throughout your body,

Moving in all directions.

Take a moment to notice the way it feels when the light reaches your heart center.

With each breath,

This light goes stronger,

Empowering you to step into your authentic self.

Returning back to your breath,

Back to the sensations of your body,

Allow for this light to extend now and touch the things in the space that you're in.

As this light expands to the environment around you,

You're in the center of a ball of light.

Asking in your own radiance,

Ask your body what it needs to embody confidence,

To embody authenticity.

Maybe what your body is needing is rest or the freedom to create.

Allow for your breath to inform you with whatever is coming up.

It is also possible that you do not receive an answer right now,

And that's okay.

Allow for your body to inform you when it is ready to do so.

With your next inhale,

Allow for the light to return back to your body,

Leaving a spark on every item or thing that it touches before returning back to your spine,

Back to your heart center.

As this meditation comes to a close,

Allow for the light to fade into your body so that it can sit with you throughout this Leo season.

This light that is ever present in you can be used to uplift and inspire those around you as you share your gifts and talents with the world.

You can begin to deepen your breath now,

Slowly becoming acquainted with the noise in your environment,

With colors and smells,

With sounds that inform your body.

On your next inhale,

You can invite movement back,

Maybe rolling your shoulders,

Wiggling your fingers and your toes,

Swaying side to side.

Take one more deep inhale and exhale,

And open your eyes,

Noticing any shifts internally or externally.
