Welcome back.

Today's meditation is a invitation to deepen your connection both with your inner being and the space around you.
As we move into this new autumn season,
I offer you this opportunity to pause and tune in to the changes that are taking place around you.
Though our lives may sometimes feel far away from nature,
We are still a part of it.
When we tap into this world,
This earth,
We can start to appreciate its ever-changing motion and we can find some ease in our own ever-changing existence.
And if nothing else,
I hope you find this meditation as an enjoyable moment of rest and relaxation.
If you can,
I offer you the invitation to do this meditation outside or near an open window,
But it can be done anywhere.
Let's begin.
Taking a moment to settle in,
You can be sitting up or lying down,
Hands resting somewhere on your body or at your side.
Whatever feels good for you.
If you're sitting,
Bringing some length to the spine,
Softening the shoulders,
And when you're ready,
Closing the eyes or softening your gaze and beginning to turn your attention to the breath,
Noticing the air as it enters and leaves your nose or mouth,
Feeling the sensations as it moves down your throat and into your chest,
Allowing it to create some space in your body.
And on your next inhale,
Bringing in the breath slowly and with intention,
Bringing it down deep into your belly,
And with the exhale,
Inviting your body to soften and the mind to let go,
Taking in another deep and expansive inhale,
Feeling the space in your body,
Every corner,
Every cell,
And with the exhale,
Letting go,
Continuing to breathe at your own pace now,
Taking a moment to settle in to the ease of the stillness.
There is nowhere to be,
There's nothing to do.
This moment is all for you,
And if the mind begins to wander,
Just bringing your attention back to the breath,
Back to the space it creates in the body.
There's no need to judge or change the thoughts,
Just acknowledge them,
Accept that they will come and go.
Give them permission to float on by and staying with the breath.
Now turning your attention to the space around you,
The temperature of the air,
Sounds you might hear,
Perhaps you notice a cool breeze,
Maybe the sun is out and you can feel its warmth on your face,
Maybe it's raining and you can smell the wet earth,
Whatever it is,
Just taking this moment to notice and experiencing whatever sensations come up.
You may notice it's a bit cooler than it was a few days ago,
Maybe you saw some leaves beginning to change,
Realize the days are getting shorter,
There's some new constellations in the night sky,
The world around us is changing,
How might you be changing too?
Giving ourselves this moment to bask in this newness,
Continuing to feel the energy around and within us,
Connecting with our senses,
Heightening our awareness,
Welcoming the transition from summer into autumn and inviting it in with the breath.
I'll give you a few more moments to enjoy this journey on your own.
