Welcome to Spiritual Safekeeping,

A short collection of thoughts and practices to assist with keeping your energy positive and protected for each day of the week.

In this Wednesday edition,

We will explore divination.

Wednesdays are associated with the planet Mercury,

Another great reminder for us to hone our communication,

Intuition,

And divination skills.

As with all forms of communication,

Listening is just as important as speaking,

And this definitely applies to the practice of divination.

With the chakras as our guide,

We understand that a balanced throat chakra places equal emphasis on both speaking and listening.

When practicing divination,

It's never wise or advisable to merely rattle off a list of questions while staring at a crystal ball.

To that end,

I would like to share an alternative that has benefited me greatly in my divination practice,

Which is I simply show up.

Several times each week,

I set aside time for divination with my spirit guides,

In which I greet them before sitting back and just listening.

Our spirit guides know what's in our hearts,

Even without us asking specific questions.

So,

While there's nothing wrong with directly asking about things,

You might be pleasantly surprised with how well your divination sessions turn out when they are more listening-oriented.

Taking this a step further,

Consider this with your intuition as well.

How often do you truly listen to yourself,

As opposed to immediately dismissing or discrediting one of your own thoughts?

This common response has an easy solution,

Listening.

We don't like it when someone cuts us off mid-sentence,

Or doesn't allow us to get a word in edgewise.

So give your spirit guides,

And yourself,

The courtesy of your full attention.

In doing so,

You will likely discover that your willingness to listen is a valuable tool that is worthy of your spiritual safekeeping.

The crow flies from me to thee,

To send the message,

Blessed be.
