Grounding and shielding your energy is an exercise that helps you stay present and helps keep you from taking on the energy of those around you.
If you are someone that easily takes on the emotions of others,
This exercise is essential for you.
There are many ways to ground and shield.
After some practice,
Allow your process to change according to your needs.
Trust your intuition and make this exercise your own.
Sitting or standing with your feet on the ground,
Direct your awareness starting at your hips and then moving down to the soles of your feet.
Bringing your awareness back to your hips,
You notice a light,
A swirling sensation,
A gentle energy,
Or perhaps nothing at all beginning to form at the base of your spine.
That sensation begins to fill your legs,
Moving down until it begins to pool at the soles of your feet.
Your energy flows down toward the earth until it connects with the ground beneath you.
Pause for a moment and allow the earth to accept your energy.
The earth draws your energy down through all her layers and anchors it to her core.
You are grounded.
The earth provides a strong and steady foundation for you as you go about your day.
And now imagine if you will,
A bubble of light beginning to form around you about 6 to 10 feet in all directions.
The light moves above your head and below your feet,
Passing through the ground beneath you until a complete shield of light surrounds you.
You notice the colors in this orb of light form layers of light protection around you.
The colors change according to your needs,
Sometimes cleansing,
Sometimes building up your energy,
Always protecting.
What you see today may be different tomorrow.
A crystalline layer of light begins to form around the outside of your shield,
Adding another layer of protection to your energy.
Only the light,
Only the love can cross into your energy through this protective shield of light.
Your energy is now grounded and shielded.
Remember to return back to this exercise anytime you feel ungrounded,
Anxious,
Or you feel as though you have taken on the energy of others.
With practice,
You will be able to complete the process quickly and mindfully.
When your next breath begins to move your body,
Take a deep breath and continue on with your day knowing that your energy is protected.
