It is possible to live your life muffled,

Mouth full of sand.

It is possible to ignore all the bad stuff,

To paint a pretty picture,

To always try to find the bright side of life.

It is possible to miss those blue skies because you were too nervous it might rain.

If you are having a tough time admitting how you really feel,

This meditation is for you.

No matter how big your feelings are at this moment,

Consider your body to be your safe space and then make it so.

Even if your breath is jagged and your shoulders are hunched,

Make yourself a space that feels comfortable and safe and warm.

Do all of the things required to allow your body to feel receptive to what is.

Your brain may be running 100 miles an hour.

You may not know where to start.

You may not know how to fix what needs fixing or how to fit all of those emotions into your body.

You will be able to do what needs doing.

Right now,

You can simply be.

Just for now,

Imagine what is beyond all of the struggle.

Imagine the space that might be found in your body.

See if you can just feel a glimpse of it.

And then let that go.

Take your time to feel your body and all of the emotion that you hold within it.

Are your toes tense or are they relaxed?

Is there an energetic feeling in them?

Is there an emotional feeling in them?

We'll ask those same questions as I move through parts of your body.

Think about your ankles,

Any tension,

Any energetic feeling,

Any emotion.

Your hips,

Your knees,

Your thighs,

Your hips.

Get to know where your emotions are residing in your body without a whiff of judgement.

You are allowed to feel.

You are allowed to store your feelings where you need to in order to move on with your life.

And a big area of emotion can be the belly,

The lower back.

Remembering that we're not trying to fix anything right now.

We're just feeling our storage places.

The ribcage,

The chest,

The heart.

Be so kind to your heart.

The upper back,

The shoulders,

The neck,

The face.

And of course the head and all of the thoughts that are swirling in your beautiful brain.

Give it all space.

Give it all love.

There is room here for you to be where you need to be.

Then take your body as a whole.

All of its energy,

All of its emotion.

Try to feel your body's wholeness rather than its separateness.

All of the places that you deem to need all of your attention and all of your mending become a little less fragmented just for now.

Feel the parts of you coalesce into the being that has been there from the beginning.

The being that has stood within you no matter what storm tried to take you down.

Take your hands to your body wherever feels healing to you.

And let the warmth of your hands ground you.

Maybe it feels appropriate to take a few deep breaths here or to let a sigh escape your mouth.

You can let your eyes blink open momentarily just to see if you are ready to take a step into the rest of your day.

And if you are not,

Close your eyes again and rest as you need and know that your resting self is remarkably wise.

Take all of the time you need to emerge gracefully with your head out of the sand,

Your eyes adjusting to the world around you.
