This mindfulness meditation practice guides you in shifting your awareness away from the emotional tension that can often accompany change and transition. When we shift away from what is familiar, the mind can spin in cycles of doubt, worry, and fear. This session will help you remember that you have the power to direct your attention as you would like.

Transcript

Take a moment to make yourself comfortable,

Sitting up through your spine and allowing your legs to be heavy and relaxed.

Start by checking in with how you feel.

Simply noting any areas that feel tension,

Any areas of constriction or unpleasant feelings in your body.

Slowly and gently,

Breathe through your nose,

Trying to send the air down into your abdomen and trying to release the air fully and completely.

Inhaling through your nose all the way to your abdomen,

Feeling your inner body expand and exhaling all the air back out,

Dissolving any stress or tension.

As I name each area of your body,

Bring your focus there and take a complete full breath of relaxation.

Taking awareness to your feet,

Taking awareness to your legs,

Taking awareness to your hips,

Then feeling your whole lower body.

Taking awareness to your back,

Taking awareness to your abdomen,

Taking awareness to your chest,

Then sensing your whole torso.

Taking awareness to your shoulders,

Taking awareness to your arms,

Taking awareness to your hands,

Taking awareness to your neck,

Taking awareness to your face,

Then sensing your upper body.

Bringing awareness to your whole body together,

Lower body,

Torso and upper body.

Then bringing your hands to the center of your chest,

Stacking one on top of the other.

Hands coming to your heart space,

Using three short affirmations to create a sense of internal comfort and security.

I am safe.

I am supported.

I am loved.

Taking a final moment to notice how you feel physically,

Mentally,

Energetically,

And then begin to bring yourself back,

Slowly opening up your eyes.

Thank you for participating in this lesson and being with this practice.

See you in the next lesson.
