As founder of the Long Island Center for Mindfulness, Cory's work is primarily in the field of mindfulness meditation. He regularly offers a variety of mindfulness workshops, courses, and residential retreats in the Long Island and New York area. He has extensive professional training in a number of mindfulness programs, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Schools, and Search Inside Yourself (the mindfulness program at Google). Cory is also a 200-hour certified hatha yoga instructor and Duke Integrative health coach. In 2012, he spent time ordained as a Buddhist monk in Burma, practicing under Sayadaw U Pandita. He is deeply fascinated in how the East and West can learn from each other in how to promote well-being for everyone. Cory currently serves as faculty at Columbia Teachers College where he teaches mindfulness to school leaders and principals. He is also an assistant instructor for the Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his graduate work.
