This children's meditation is to help children to feel safe and happy transitioning into their own bedrooms. By using 4 stuffed teddies as bedtime buddies, each with a different job, your small child will feel like they are not alone and they can do this! The meditation is also very sweet and soothing, sending them off into sweet dreams by the end!

Are you ready to meditate with Kari?

For this very special meditation,

Before we start,

I want you to pick out four of your favorite stuffies,

Your favorite cuddly teddies,

Your favorite dolls,

Maybe it's your favorite robots,

Whatever it is,

Pick out four of them,

Four things from your bedroom or your playroom that you really love,

That you really like.

And when you've brought those four things back into your room,

You can press play once again.

So just pause it for now and get four things.

Now that you've got your four things,

Put your favorite out of the four in bed with you,

Then choose one to go over on the left side of the room.

So go put one over on the left side of the room somewhere.

Put one of your other teddies straight in front of you on that wall.

Put it on your dresser or a chair,

Wherever you need to,

So that you can see it.

And then your final one,

Put over on the right side of the room somewhere where you can see it.

Pop back into bed and you're snuggled with your stuffy or your doll or your teddy.

That's one that's in bed with you.

And then when you look over to the left,

You should be able to see one on the left.

When you look over to the right,

You should be able to see one on the right.

And when you look straight in front of you,

You should be able to see one right there also.

So you have four friends with you for this meditation.

Four friends that are going to keep you safe and keep you company.

Now lay down in bed and make sure that you get completely comfortable.

Pull the covers up.

Make sure that your pillow is just right.

Put your teddy in your arms on the left or the right so that you can snuggle and hold it real close.

Make sure that your light is just right.

Everything is perfect.

So now you can relax your body.

You can keep your eyes open if you want to so that you can see your friends.

Or you can close your eyes and just imagine and know that your friends are right there all around you in your room.

Sometimes it's difficult to go to bed.

Sometimes you don't want to go to bed.

Sometimes you'd rather just stay with your mom or your dad or your caretaker.

It's nice when you're with them because you don't feel alone.

You feel safe and protected.

And when you go to bed all of a sudden you're alone in your room.

But not tonight.

Tonight you have a friend laid right next to you.

There's one over on the left.

You have your other buddy straight in front and your other buddy over on the right.

And you can all see each other.

You're all in the same room.

You're definitely not alone.

Know that your family is close by and they're always there if you really,

Really need them.

But for now you can do this.

You can be in your room with your four buddies right here with you.

Just give each one of your friends a job,

The one that's in bed with you.

Their job is to cuddle you.

They snuggle in.

They keep you warm.

They make you feel held and loved.

Your buddy over there on the left is keeping watch.

They look out the window.

They check around the room.

They have x-ray vision and they can see in your closet and underneath your bed.

They're like your own little watch guard.

The one straight in front of you is there to make sure that you have sweet dreams.

No nightmares please.

That special friend there in front of you is just waiting very patiently until you fall to sleep.

And then when you're asleep it journeys into dreamland with you.

If you're flying through the sky in your dreams that buddy sitting across from you,

The one in front,

Will be right there flying next to you.

If you're running through a field or if something's chasing you don't worry.

This buddy is going to be right there in your dreams making sure that your dreams are happy and fun.

They're always nice dreams.

So you could say that that one keeps a watch over your dreams at night.

And then your final friend over to the right is there to tell you jokes or make you laugh or make you smile.

That's like your entertainment buddy.

You have to use your imagination a little bit but you can imagine that it's dancing around over there doing a jig.

Maybe it's hip-hopping or maybe it's Irish dancing or maybe it's just acting silly and goofy and crazy and it's making you laugh and smile.

It's like your smiling buddy.

So you have your cuddle buddy that's hugging you nice and tight in bed.

Over on the left you have your watch guard.

That one's making sure that keeps checking outside,

Checking all the perimeters,

Checking everything around your room keeping you safe and sound.

The one in front is waiting till you fall fast asleep.

It's making sure you have the bestest,

Sweetest,

Nicest dreams all the time.

And then your buddy on the right is your goofy buddy,

Your smile buddy that's there to make you laugh.

You have to help it along and use your imagination and imagine in your mind you can see it dancing or telling you a joke or just being goofy.

But that's what that one's there for.

So you're surrounded by friends.

You're safe.

Your family is not too far away.

All is well.

You're nice and warm and snuggly.

If it feels right for you now maybe you would like to just close your eyes.

You can take a big deep breath in and blow out your day.

It's time to relax.

Time to let yourself start to snuggle even deeper down into your bed.

With your eyes closed imagine that your feet are getting super heavy.

Imagine that you can finally be still and quiet and let your feet completely relax.

Let your legs get all snuggly and comfortable.

Notice how soft the mattress is underneath your legs.

How comfortable and cosy your blankets are.

You can relax your tummy.

You can let your arms get very very heavy.

Your friends have got you covered.

Watching over you,

Keeping you safe.

Though they're waiting in case you need to have a laugh and a joke.

They're also waiting to take you into the bestest dreams.

What would you like to dream about tonight?

Would you like to go swimming with a dolphin in the big blue ocean?

Would you like to fly through the clouds and pretend they're made of marshmallow and maybe just eat one or two on your way past?

Maybe you want to take a ride on the back of a big fluffy puppy running through the woods chasing fairies and elves.

Or maybe you'd like to dream about playing in the sand on the beach making sand castles and mermaids and big big crabs out of the sand.

What do you want to dream about tonight?

The world is yours.

Whatever your imagination wants to conjure up,

It's waiting for you right there in the world of dreams.

You're safe.

You're warm and cosy and comfortable.

Your family is not too far away.

You can let your body get heavier and heavier.

Even more sleepy.

Feeling so tired,

So relaxed.

The bed seems to get softer and softer.

Even your muscles and your legs and your arms and your head seem to get heavier and heavier.

It's time to sleep.

Time to let go.

Snuggle closer into your stuffy and let yourself fall to sleep.

Here we go.

Okay.
