Are you ready to meditate with Cori?
Make sure that you're all comfortable and snug and warm in your bed.
Check that the light is just right so that you can fully relax your body and let go of your busy day.
Once you know that you're completely comfortable and you have all of the whittles out of your body,
Try and be still.
So the only thing that's moving is your chest as it rises and falls when you breathe in and breathe out.
You can imagine if you like that your chest is like the ocean moving up and down very gently like a wave on the ocean.
See if you can allow your body to sink deeper into your bed every time you breathe out.
Imagine in your mind that you're breathing in a relaxation feeling.
So when you breathe in,
You're breathing in this relaxation and when you breathe out,
Your body softens and relaxes into your bed.
Breathing in the relaxation,
Breathing out and softening.
See if you can keep that in your mind all the time when you notice your breath in and your breath out.
Sam was sat on his swing set on the back garden.
It had a really good day until he had an argument with his sister.
School was good,
His mom had packed him his favorite lunch so that was good.
He'd done really good on his test in the afternoon so he felt good about himself there.
The bus ride home was good.
It sat next to one of his friends,
Sage,
And they'd been telling jokes and laughing all the way home.
When he got in the house,
He said hi to his mom and then he went upstairs and got changed out of his uniform.
He put on his comfy clothes.
He came downstairs and went into the dining room.
There was an area in there where there was boxes and a play area.
A place where he stored his Lego and most of his little sister's toys were there.
He grabbed the box that he kept his Lego in and opened it up to find out that it wasn't how he left it.
This shouldn't have been such a big deal but for whatever reason,
It drove Sam crazy when his little sister played with his Lego and it wasn't the same as he'd left it.
He instantly got up and complained to his mom and then he shouted without even thinking,
Don't play with my Lego anymore.
How many times do I have to tell you?
His little sister looked surprised and then shocked and then upset.
And she instantly started to cry because he raised his voice and it shocked her and scared her.
Sam felt terrible.
His mom came in the living room,
Wiping her hands with a tea towel.
She'd been washing the dishes.
Sam,
That's not very nice.
Sam blushed.
He felt really guilty already but then he got all defensive because he didn't like the way that he was feeling.
He knew he wasn't being very nice to his sister but then his mom to tell him he wasn't being nice to his sister made him feel 10 times worse.
And because he felt ashamed of himself,
He got angry instead.
He got angry and said,
Well,
Stop it from playing with my Lego then.
Sam stormed outside,
Went onto the back garden and sat on one of his swings.
He was just sat there kicking at the grass underneath the swing set for a while.
He wasn't swinging.
He thought his mom might come out and shout at him but she didn't.
He didn't quite know how to feel.
Sam's back garden had a white fence all around it,
A white picket fence.
And there,
Directly in front of him,
Landed a bird that started to tweet a lot.
He looked up at it.
It didn't fly away when he moved,
Yet it was really close.
He stared at the bird for a while and it felt like the bird was staring back at him.
It was a normal looking bird,
Nothing special.
It was brown,
A tiny little yellow beak.
It just looked like a sparrow or something.
It was a tiny bit windy that day and sometimes the wind would pick up and it looked like the bird was going to get blown off the fence.
But it didn't move and the wind was mixing in with its chirping noises.
And sometimes it sounded as if he really was singing.
The bird,
That is.
Like he was trying to say something.
And at one point,
Sam felt like he was really,
Really connecting to the bird because the bird was staring at him,
Right in his eyes,
Deep into his soul,
It felt like.
And the bird chirped,
I'm sorry,
Please forgive me,
Thank you,
I love you.
At first,
Sam thought he was just imagining silly words that sounded like they were coming from the wind.
It made him feel a little bit eerie,
Strange.
And he looked away from the bird and the bird wouldn't fly away.
So he looked back and the wind seemed to calm down,
To barely no breeze at all.
The bird,
Once again,
Looked directly into his eyes.
I'm sorry,
The bird said,
Please forgive me,
Thank you,
I love you.
And then the bird just got up and flew away.
Sam felt cold.
He shivered.
It wasn't real,
Obviously,
He thought to himself.
Maybe he just felt really guilty about shouting at his sister that now he was imagining stuff.
He was going to get up and just go inside and go tell his sister he was sorry.
But then when he looked down to push off the ground,
There was a snail on his left shoe.
He instantly thought about just kicking it off because it creeped him out.
Slimy snail on his shoe.
But the snail looked at him,
Really looked.
Well,
Did it look at him because he couldn't tell if the snail had got eyes or not,
But its little antenna things were pointing right at him.
And he paused for a second.
And the snail said,
I'm sorry,
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
The snail slid off Sam's shoe and just kind of went on its way slowly.
At this point,
Sam knew something was going on.
Something very strange was going on.
Something very,
Very weird was going on.
And he sat back down almost as if he was in shock.
There was a bunny rabbit that caught his eye in the corner of his garden.
And it started to hop towards him.
He'd never seen a bunny rabbit in the garden.
They lived close by to the woods,
But he'd never seen a bunny rabbit.
Today,
There was a bunny rabbit in his garden,
Hopping towards him.
It stopped right there in front of him on the swing set,
Stared into his eyes.
Just like the bird,
It felt like he was staring into his soul.
He felt a little bit nervous and uncomfortable.
But the bunny rabbit seemed to smile at him as if it was a nice little bunny rabbit.
And the smile that he felt like he saw,
Even if he didn't,
Made him feel a little bit reassured inside.
And just like the snail and the bird,
The bunny rabbit stared at him and said,
I'm sorry,
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Sam said,
Oh,
Whoa,
Hold on a minute.
Hold on a minute,
Bunny rabbit.
Are you talking to me?
The bunny rabbit casually bit on some grass that was there in front of it,
As if to say,
Are you crazy?
I'm just here having some grass.
Sam said,
I know you just talked to me,
Bunny.
I heard it.
You said,
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
What are you talking about?
The bunny rabbit acted like it was just a regular old bunny rabbit that had never said a thing.
This made Sam feel extra,
Extra crazy.
But then the bunny rabbit shifted its energy and its eyes closed a little bit as if it was focusing in on Sam's face once again.
And it said it again.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
And the bunny rabbit took way back over to the corner of the garden and then through the fence and out of sight.
Sam frantically looked around as if there was a garden full of animals coming for him.
But he couldn't see anything else.
Thought about running inside and telling his mom straight away.
But then he thought,
Hmm,
She's mad at me.
She'll think I'm just making things up so,
So I'm not in trouble.
And that made him sit there a little bit longer.
A squirrel run down the tree in the middle of the garden and hopped on over towards Sam.
It hopped up and sat on the swing next to him and looked him directly in the eyes,
Deep into his soul.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Hopped off the swing and ran back up the tree.
Sam just shook his head.
He didn't know what was going on.
And then the bird that was the first one to talk to him flew back and landed on the fence right there in front of him.
Sam said,
What is happening?
I know you guys are talking to me.
Don't tell me I'm crazy.
The bird just blinked slowly a couple of times and stared at him.
And then it said,
Oh,
Upon,
Oh,
Upon,
Oh,
Oh,
Upon,
Oh.
This was a word Sam had never heard before.
The bird didn't move its beak,
Didn't blink,
Didn't do anything.
And its tiny little feathers were blowing in the wind again.
And in the wind,
He heard the bird say,
It's all about making things right.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Oh,
Upon,
Oh,
Upon,
Oh,
Oh.
Sam said,
Is that what that word means?
The bird nodded its little beak at him and then closed its eyes slowly for a second,
As if the bird was feeling the Zen of the words he was sharing with Sam.
The bird once again said,
It's about making it right.
Repentance is your I'm sorry.
Ask for forgiveness.
Please forgive me.
Gratitude for their forgiveness.
Thank you.
And then share your love.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Sam listened.
As the wind blew the words in his direction,
He felt the words penetrate through his skin and into his heart.
He got it.
He got the message.
He not only got it,
But he felt it deep inside of himself.
Sam shouted,
Thank you to the bird and instantly jumped off his swing and ran inside of the house.
He pushed through the swing door,
Pushed through the back door,
Ran in,
Got down on the floor next to his little sister and said,
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
And then he grabbed her really close and hugged her tight.
And she giggled because he was tickling her back at the same time.
Mom watched from the kitchen sink and smiled.
She knew that Sam would make things right.
The end.
