Planet Venamin | Children's Sleep Story
This story is all about Luke. Luke finds himself on a very strange planet full of Squish Mellows called Venamin, just like the one he owns. Luke along with his big sister Aria and his dogs all have to figure out what exactly is going on here.
Transcript
Are you ready to meditate with Cori?
Climb up into your bed and get super,
Super comfortable.
Make sure that everything is just right in your room,
The lights are just right,
You're wearing your cosy,
Comfy pyjamas,
You have your squishy with you if you need it,
Your blanket,
Whatever you need to relax.
All is well in the world.
Let's try and let your body be still and quiet so you can fall fast asleep as you listen to the story.
Luke turned around and he noticed his sister Aria with Elsie,
Benji and Sam.
The dogs were all walking next to Aria.
It looked like they were in the middle of the sand dunes or something.
As far as his eyes could see,
All he could see was sand,
Sand to the left,
Sand to the right.
Behind him,
In front of him,
He was like,
What is this place?
Luke started to walk faster to catch up to his sister and the dogs.
He was shouting,
Aria,
Wait!
She didn't seem to hear him.
He shouted,
Elsie!
Benji!
Sam!
Benji!
Sam!
None of the dogs seemed to respond.
It was like they were there,
But there was something,
Some kind of wall or invisible panel or something that was stopping the sound getting to them because they were not hearing him.
He couldn't see anything dividing him and his sister and the dogs,
Yet.
Sam!
He kept shouting.
Aria!
Stop!
Nothing.
As if they were out there on their own,
Just taking a walk on the sand dunes.
Luke started running faster,
But he noticed straight away it was like sometimes when you dream and you're running in your dream and you don't feel like you're getting anywhere.
He looked down and he could see his footprints in the sand.
He was running and running and running,
Pushing faster and faster and faster.
Luke likes parkour,
So he's good,
He's fast,
He's powerful.
He can run,
He can jump,
He can do all sorts of stuff.
But this wasn't doing anything in this place.
All he noticed was the sand moving underneath his feet.
He could see footsteps from the dogs and his sister,
But he couldn't reach them.
It was so annoying.
Luke was so busy trying to catch up to his sister.
He didn't notice when she just completely disappeared,
Along with the dogs,
Vanished.
And then he stopped and stood still,
Staring there,
Going,
Where did,
What,
Where did they go?
Luke ran,
Again,
Right to where he last saw his sister.
And that's when he fell.
He fell.
He fell in what looked like a big,
Giant sand hole.
He was falling and falling and falling.
His body was spinning all over the place.
At first he was like,
Oh my gosh,
What's happening?
But then he was like,
Oh,
This is kind of cool.
He felt a little bit like a stuntman or something,
Flying off a building.
He didn't feel scared in that moment.
It felt like,
Even though he was falling,
Something,
Some kind of gravity,
Was keeping him safe,
Keeping him at a certain speed,
As if it was carrying him somewhere.
That's when Luke heard Sam barking.
And then he heard Elsie and Benji.
They were all barking.
They were barking like a happy bark,
Like they were really excited about something,
Not like a who's at the door kind of bark.
And then all of a sudden,
Luke stopped moving.
He stopped falling.
And he found himself standing on his feet right there with Aria and the dogs.
Aria looked at him and said,
It's about time.
Luke said,
What?
It's about time?
I've been following you ages.
I was shouting you.
You didn't hear me.
His sister said,
Oh,
Luke,
Of course I heard you.
You just needed to hurry up.
Luke said,
Why didn't you let me know?
Aria just smirked at him.
Luke put his hands on his hips as if to say,
Oh,
You're such a grrr.
Aria just laughed.
Then that's when they both noticed where they were.
They looked around.
It looked like they were standing on the moon or something.
Mars,
Maybe.
The earth beneath their feet was not sand anymore.
It was more solid,
Like rock,
Like gravel.
But they definitely were not on the planet earth.
They were somewhere else.
You know why they knew they were somewhere else?
Because everywhere they looked,
They saw these,
What looked like tan squish mellows.
They were just walking around,
Minding their own business.
Instantly,
Luke shouted,
Venoman,
Venoman!
He was shouting Venoman because that was his squish mellow,
His favorite squish mellow,
Venoman.
And every single one of these squish mellows were Venoman.
They all looked like Venoman.
They looked like little Venomans walking around on this weird looking planet.
What?
Venoman!
Luke shouted.
None of them were listening to him.
Oh,
No,
Not again,
He said.
Luke started to walk forward towards the closest Venoman.
And that's when he saw the biggest,
Giantest,
Absolutely enormous looking Socks.
What?
Socks?
Socks was Luke's cat.
What are you doing here and why are you so big?
Said Luke.
Aria started laughing.
Socks looked as grumpy as ever.
She was always kind of like a grumpy cat,
You know,
She was a bit,
How would you say it?
She was a bit of a jerk,
Actually.
She liked to scratch and knock things over and,
You know,
Just be her normal self.
Why are you so big?
Luke said again.
Socks looked down at Luke and said,
I'm in charge here.
Why else would I be this big?
Luke looked up at her and said,
You're in charge.
Oh,
No.
Elsie,
His old dog,
And Benji,
His other old dog,
And Sam,
His Shih Tzu,
Was stood there with his hair in his eyes as normal,
Couldn't see a thing.
Elsie said to Sam,
Move your hair so you can see what we're looking at.
Sam,
The Shih Tzu,
Moved his hair and said,
Oh,
Boy.
Why?
Why is Socks so big?
Socks looked down at the dogs and laughed,
The most naughtiest laugh,
Like ha ha ha ha kind of laugh.
The dogs all looked at Aria as if to say,
Get us out of here.
Socks that big?
This is dangerous.
Luke grabbed a hold of one of the Squishmallows that was walking past and said,
What's your name?
Venoman,
Said the Squishmallow.
What's that guy's name?
The Squishmallow looked over at where Luke was pointing,
Venoman.
Where are we?
Said Luke.
Planet Venoman.
What's that big,
Giant cat called there?
Venoman.
Is everything called Venoman?
This is Venoman planet,
Yes.
Venoman.
What are you all doing?
Said Luke.
Everybody was just looking at the ground,
Walking around,
Like zombies.
It was so weird.
Venoman said,
We're looking for the dragon egg.
Aria said,
What?
Is this like some kind of Minecraft creation or something?
The Venoman that was talking to Luke had no clue what Aria was saying.
This is planet Venoman.
Oh,
Wait a minute,
Said Luke.
I think I remember one time in a dream that I made a planet in Minecraft.
It was awesome.
And I was like,
When I woke up,
You can't make planets.
But then I was like,
Well,
Maybe you can.
Is this my planet?
This is planet Venoman.
Oh,
Said Luke,
A little bit frustrated.
He started to walk towards Socks.
Him and his sister were pushing each other out the way,
Trying to get there first.
Aria said,
I'll ask.
Luke said,
No,
I'll ask.
And then this big,
Giant paw came down and swiped them both right on the tush.
And they both fell over.
Socks,
His crazy cat,
Started laughing.
Luke said,
What was that for?
No fighting on planet Venoman.
What?
Said Luke.
We weren't fighting.
Aria said,
I think we were.
Luke said,
No,
We weren't.
We were just doing what we normally do.
Aria said,
Yeah,
That's fighting sometimes.
Luke said,
Oh.
No fighting allowed on planet Venoman,
Said Socks.
And she very quickly put her paw back where it belonged.
She was sat there like the Sphinx.
You know,
The Sphinx that's by the pyramids.
She looked like a very proud,
Fancy cat.
She definitely looked like she owned the place.
What else is not allowed here?
Said Luke.
Well,
That would be telling,
Said Socks.
You'd have to find out.
But why don't you make yourself useful and look for the dragon egg since you're here?
Apparently it's underneath the earth somewhere.
That's a bit broad.
And you got any more details than that?
How are we supposed to be finding it?
This place is massive.
Luke was stood there looking around all over the place.
It was enormous.
You're good at Minecraft,
Right?
Socks said.
Use your brains.
See if you can find it.
Luke looked around and noticed that all the Venomons,
There must have been about 50 of them,
Just walking around like beep beep,
Beep beep,
Beep beep.
Just looking at the ground.
What if it's not in the ground?
Luke looked down and said to Benji.
Benji's.
Dog said.
Well,
Socks said it was in the ground.
But what if it's not?
What if it's.
.
.
In the sky somewhere?
What if it's up there?
He pointed to one tree.
One tree.
That was as tall as Socks.
It looked like a palm tree.
What is a palm tree doing here on this planet?
Just one single tree.
It's got to be something.
Come on.
Adventure time,
Dogs.
Come on,
Aria.
Let's go look at that tree.
Everyone started to head through the bunch of Venomons towards the tree.
When they got to the bottom of the palm tree,
It looked like Jack and the Beanstalks.
Giant,
Giant,
Giant.
Like it went into gosh knows where.
It just kept going and going and going.
Luke said.
How are we supposed to get up there?
I bet you any money the dragon egg's up there.
I can just feel it.
It's like when I play Minecraft.
I know,
I can just feel it.
Aria said.
Maybe we can use all these Venomons.
Maybe they'll.
.
.
Stack on top of each other.
And we can use them like a ladder.
Luke heard Socks say.
Meow.
Luke turned around and Socks looked at them as if to say.
That's within the rules.
You can do that.
The last thing Luke needed was another tush banging.
So he said.
Right,
Let's do it.
Venomons,
Venomons,
Attention,
Venomons.
I have a great big giant task for you,
Venomons.
None of the Venomons were listening.
They just were looking at the ground,
Walking around.
Oh,
Not this again,
Said Luke.
Sam,
His little Shih Tzu dog.
That always had its hair in its eyes.
Moved its hair once again.
It blew and its hair flew out of its eyes and he said.
Maybe you could just like,
Herd them like sheep.
I can help.
Sam started to run around,
Herding.
All the Venomons.
Benji started to help.
Elsie was way too old.
She said.
I'm hungry.
Aria said.
I don't think there's any food here.
Elsie just laid back down.
Right then,
I best rest.
But Benji and Sam started to gather all of the Venomons.
They were just pushing them in the direction of where Luke and Aria were.
It didn't take too long at all for his dogs to gather them all up like sheep.
Well done,
Dogs.
Well done.
Now,
How are we going to get them to climb on each other?
I know,
Said Luke.
He pointed up to the sky,
Up to the top of the palm tree.
Dragon egg up there.
The dragon egg is up there.
Let's all climb.
All of the Venomons listened.
Ah,
Said Luke.
I think the magic,
I think the magic word is dragon eggs.
They listened.
Luke showed them what he wanted them to do with a couple of the Venomons.
And then they all started to copy.
Jumping up,
Up,
Up,
Up.
Climbing higher,
Higher,
Higher.
On top of each other.
Over and over and over and over again.
And that's when Luke,
Followed by Aria,
Started to climb the Jack and the Beanstalk.
But Luke and the Beanstalk.
Well,
It's kind of like Luke and the Venomonstalk.
Up to the sky.
They must have been climbing for like five or ten minutes.
It was so tall,
Guys.
So,
So tall.
They were tired.
Luke was thirsty.
Luke said,
God,
I'm a little bit bored.
Aria said,
Don't start.
Just keep going.
Luke kept going.
And going and going.
When they eventually got to the top.
There,
In the middle of the palm tree.
Was the dragon egg.
Luke turned around to his sister and said.
What did I tell you?
I'm a genius.
Aria smirked at him as if to say,
Yeah,
Yeah,
Whatever.
She was impressed,
Though.
He knew the dragon egg was there for some reason.
He just knew.
He was really good at Minecraft,
So.
It makes sense.
Now,
He said,
All we have to do is do some kind of cool parkour.
Slide down this thing.
Let's parkour slide it.
I don't want to climb it.
That's boring.
Let's parkour slide it.
Luke said.
And with that,
He grabbed the dragon egg.
Tucked it under his arm.
And just slid all the way down.
All of the Venomons.
Followed by Aria,
His big sister.
It was so much fun.
And they went really,
Really,
Really fast.
And they got to the bottom.
Luke and Aria and the dogs started to walk towards Socks.
They placed the dragon egg between Socks's paws.
And Socks did the biggest meow.
Well done,
She said.
For that.
You get to go home.
Luke yawned.
And opened his eyes.
He was laid in his bed.
He looked around his room and noticed that he was in his room.
And then he was like,
What?
That was the weirdest dream ever.
Bazonkas!
He had the biggest smile when he ran downstairs to his mum.
And the rest of the family.
Oh,
Just in time,
Mum said.
Can you do the dishes with me?
Luke said.
Awww.
What?
He was thinking that was not good timing.
This is the worst timing.
But then.
Luke remembered his dream.
He remembered how all of the Venoman were all working together to get the dragon egg.
When it came to the dragon egg,
It was teamwork.
Like they were a family.
Like they all just worked with each other to get the job done.
Oh.
Thought Luke to himself.
That's what that was about.
Yeah,
Mum.
I'll help you do the dishes.
Luke helped his mum do the dishes.
And didn't say he was bored.
Once.
