Hello there.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Allow yourself to gaze around the room you are in,
Noticing how everything's landed here in this moment.
And then return your attention back to your body.
Closing your eyes or lowering your gaze,
Whatever feels right for you in this moment.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath,
How the more you become attuned to it,
Your body releases tension.
You feel more supported by the surface beneath you.
And as you continue to stay present with your breath,
See if you can imagine that you are drawing in the same playful spirit that you bring into your work with children.
Release any stress or worry that you may be carrying from the day so far.
Continue to breathe in deeply and breathe out fully,
Allowing yourself to settle into this moment of stillness.
If you can,
In your mind's eye,
Picture a cozy,
Comforting room.
This room has soft lighting,
Vibrant colors,
And some of the same comforting elements that you might use with your clients.
Imagine the space is made just for you,
A place to explore,
Create,
And play without any expectations.
Let this room represent your own inner world,
Where you are safe,
Nurtured,
And allowed to simply be.
As you stand in this room,
Envision your younger self entering.
This is the part of you that knows how to play,
Imagine,
And feel deeply.
Greet this version of yourself with love and understanding.
Sit down together in this space.
Notice what your inner child needs today.
Maybe comfort,
Laughter,
Perhaps just a hug.
Take a moment to listen without judgment.
In your daily work,
You create safety,
Joy,
And connection for the children you work with.
Now,
Offer that same care to yourself.
Imagine wrapping yourself in a blanket of compassion,
Knowing that you too deserve moments of rest,
Comfort,
And joy.
You may even affirm to yourself,
I deserve the care I give to others.
My own joy and well-being matter.
Take a moment to express gratitude to your inner child and for the space you have created.
Allow the imagery to slowly fade as you come back to your breath.
Gently begin to notice your body once again,
Your hands,
Feet,
And the points of contact with the chair or floor.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take with you this simple affirmation,
I am worthy of play,
Peace,
And the care I provide to others.
Thank you for your practice.
