From stress to calm.
So,
We can be stressed about so many different things in this busy,
Crazy life,
And there are things that you can do,
Obviously,
And as we all have different stresses,
I can't possibly tell you how to overcome your specific problems.
However,
What we can all do is just take a few minutes to just sit or lie down and just know that in those few minutes that everything is okay and that you can pick up your stresses afterwards if you want but maybe just with a little bit of relaxation and bringing a feeling of safety into your world then those stresses might just be able to be viewed with a little bit more clarity or perhaps solutions will come to you.
Because when we're dealing with stress,
Our brain is in stress mode and the energy is mainly going to the limbic system,
Which is the emotional part of your brain.
And thinking wise,
Our brain can kind of come offline.
So this is to just help you just relax into the moment.
If you can lie down,
If you can't,
Just sit up.
That's okay anyway.
Just bringing a sense of a break,
A pause.
Gently closing your eyes if that feels good.
And just having the intention to just allow yourself to just stop for a few minutes.
Sending that message.
Through your mind to your body.
So,
Just let it all go.
Just relax.
Allowing everything to soften.
If your mind is racing,
Just literally and metaphorically putting it aside.
Might have a visual of you literally picking something up and putting it to the side.
Just coming back.
To your body Just allowing everything to just slow down.
Perhaps relaxing your facial muscles.
Opening your jaw so it softens.
Allowing any tension.
To melt away.
Into the surface beneath you.
Just pay attention now to what your breath is doing.
Is it still raggedy and shallow?
Or is it slow?
I want to put a hand on your tummy.
Just breathing into that hand.
Just low and slow.
I want to take bigger breaths.
Whatever rhythm feels good for you right now.
What we do know is that changing our breath.
.
.
Changes our body.
And it changes our mind and our brain.
Just bringing in a sense of safety.
Right now,
Just for a few minutes.
You're safe.
You can be still.
You might want to imagine yourself breathing in a sense of calm.
And as you breathe out.
.
.
That relaxation just washes through you,
Over you.
Breathing in,
Sense of calm.
And when you breathe out,
Just relaxing a little bit further.
Just bringing your breath to a very natural rhythm now.
Again,
Putting aside.
Anything that isn't bringing you relaxation and safety and calm.
Just a moment.
Perhaps noticing an area of your body that does feel relaxed.
So,
Your back.
Feels relaxed as it sits against the chair or lies on a bed or settee.
Just feeling that warmth,
That connection.
And allowing that to radiate throughout the rest of your body.
Bringing with it a sense of warmth.
And calm.
Paying attention to your facial muscles once more.
Perhaps softening that space in between your eyebrows.
Just taking time out.
Practice self-care.
Just breathing.
Relaxing.
Feeling that sense of calm.
Wash over you.
Radiate every part of you.
Just letting go into this moment.
Can you feel a gradual softening throughout your body?
Bringing your attention back to your breath.
How is it now?
Does it feel a little more relaxed than when you began?
You might want to take your hand and put it over your heart.
Or somewhere else you find supportive.
Feeling that warmth.
Wishing yourself well.
I'm just remembering that simply stopping.
And just create this sense of calm in your day.
Bringing your attention once more to your body as it sits or lies.
Just feeling it as one entire entity.
Perhaps you've slowed down enough to be able to feel your heart beating.
Perhaps that gives you a joy at being alive.
Being able to do all the things you do in your day.
With your body.
Perhaps that makes you want to have a little smile.
Okay!
So.
.
.
Just gently coming back to the room.
With your eyes opening.
Hopefully with a renewed sense of calm.
Welcome.
