Something has been on my mind quite a bit lately,
On the subject of what many would call unanswered prayers.
God,
Spirit,
The Universe.
If you are here,
You likely believe in something.
And maybe over the years you've asked for a thing or two,
Too.
Sometimes we get exactly what we want.
And sometimes it's radio silence.
And sometimes the waiting room is the hardest place to be.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
So we begin here by closing down your eyes and taking a big deep breath in.
And exhale as your body and mind connect in an all-too-familiar way,
Letting any thoughts or emotions just pass through you with the breath.
Gently inhale.
And slowly exhale.
There's no right or wrong way to do this.
There is no pressure.
You are right where you are meant to be.
Feel how your body releases a little deeper still with every exhale.
Feeling the weight of this past day or week just fall away.
Today we're going to practice a different kind of gratitude.
By giving thanks for everything you never asked for,
But got anyway.
When we let courage and wisdom help us find the blessings within our challenges,
These situations become a mirror that we can reflect into.
To show us where we need to change and grow.
And you also never really know what an inconvenience has protected you from.
I'm going to say each one,
And I will leave a little space for you to repeat.
So let's begin.
Thank you,
Silence.
Thank you,
Nothingness.
Thank you,
Consequence.
Thank you,
Disillusionment.
Thank you,
Fear.
Thank you,
Tears.
Thank you,
Anger.
Thank you,
Inconsideration.
Thank you,
Traffic.
Thank you,
Tardiness.
Thank you,
Disappointment.
Thank you,
Exhaustion.
Thank you,
Breaking point.
Thank you,
Clarity.
Thank you,
Time.
There are 8 billion people in this world,
And not a single one enjoys a life that is challenge-free.
Challenge is necessary,
And it's also unavoidable.
Challenge is your teacher,
But it's also your ally.
Finding the good and the lessons in things allows us to move through them,
And on to all the new experiences still waiting for you.
So the next time you find yourself in a place or space you'd rather not be,
Either physically or mentally,
Say thank you.
Find gratitude in what it may be protecting you from.
Look for the lesson hidden within the mirror,
And learn.
So I invite you to take a final deep breath in here,
And exhale as you let it all go.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes and come back to the room around you.
Thank you for being here.
