Sometimes,
You just need to breathe,
To trust,
To let it go,
And see what happens next.
The truth is,
Most problems aren't solved by thinking,
They're solved with time and space.
Welcome to Coached by Nikki Dyer.
I hope you're sitting comfortably now and ready to meditate with me.
Let's start by taking some deep breaths in together.
Tuning in fully to the nurturing air coming in through your nose,
Noticing the way it travels all the way down into your belly,
Allowing your body to relax just a little bit deeper with each exhale,
Letting go of any to-do lists,
Anything you forgot to do yesterday or you need to remember for later on,
For the next five minutes.
Just let it be.
It's normal for thoughts to come and go,
Maybe you're noticing sounds,
Or noticing your mind wandering here and there,
Which is okay,
But for now,
You're here.
So keep allowing these words to gently bring you back and find it easy to reconnect by taking a deep breath in.
It was Ralph Marston who said,
The best way to handle good fortune is to do something positive and useful with it.
The best way to handle misfortune is exactly the same.
Sometimes you get what you want,
Other times you don't.
You get a lesson instead,
In patience,
Timing,
Humility,
Resistance,
Clarity,
Trust.
We are often softened and disappointed by the moments in life that don't turn out the way we anticipated,
The way we hoped,
The way we planned for,
But today I want you to remember something.
The truth is,
We learn more from what we do not receive,
Than from when we do.
It's the contrast that becomes the whole point of it all.
It's the heaviness in the struggles,
That make the moments of clarity and good fortune feel weightless.
The decision is ultimately yours,
Of course,
To choose what will defeat you,
To decide whether or not something levels you and capsizes your life,
Or if something becomes a chance to better understand,
To empathize,
To see things differently,
To persevere.
None of us will ever see a perfect day,
But just maybe,
We can channel what hurts into what ultimately heals,
To be inspired by our spirit inside still fighting,
Still pushing forward.
Life isn't about the things that happen to you,
It's about what you do with them,
When they do.
Take a final deep breath in,
And on the exhale,
Open your eyes and come back to the space around you.
