Meditation is a practice and it's true that your life can really start to change in major ways when you take the time to practice it.
Pausing your day for a quick minute of reflection and gratitude.
It gives you benefits like increased patience and tolerance,
Reduced negative emotions and a new perspective on stressful situations.
These next few minutes,
These are just for you.
Get into a comfortable position that feels good for your body.
Gently close your eyes.
For these next few moments,
I'd like to invite you to take your hands and place one of them over your heart and one on your belly and just take a pause.
Feel the warmth of your own touch.
Feel how your body provides support for your hands.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and hold it at the top before you allow the breath to release.
As you're breathing in,
Imagine the lungs as two beautiful balloons.
See how they stretch and expand with your inward breath and as you hold your breath at the top,
Focus on the pause.
Feel how everything just stops for a second.
As you exhale,
Allow yourself to release anything inside that no longer serves you.
As your hands are holding you in this moment,
Showing up powerfully and purposefully for you,
I want you to think about something that you feel grateful for.
It doesn't have to be grand really or anything significant.
Maybe you're grateful for this quiet moment to be with your own thoughts or an earlier time when someone helped you when you really needed it most.
Or maybe you're just feeling really grateful for existing,
For having two hands to place on a healthy body.
Whatever you're grateful for,
Hold that feeling deep in your chest as you hold yourself.
Allow your body to create a smile across your face if it feels natural.
Continuing to stay present in this feeling as you pause,
As you feel yourself in this energy.
Feeling it radiate through you.
Finding time today to be grateful for your current reality.
For the greater understanding that time spent on yourself is never time wasted.
For the lessons in the past you've learned from.
For your ability to have moved through them and on to new experiences.
You can allow life to unfold just as it's meant to,
Without fear or worry.
Because you're learning that the more you are present in your life,
The more you experience a true inner peace.
You are more powerful than you know.
I am so grateful for you.
