Hi,
Welcome to this meditation led by Claudia Silas,
Yoga,
Meditation and dance facilitator.
Today we're going to be exploring the somatic body as an ocean descending down into the depths of your being.
To begin with find a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Sitting is useful if you're looking for something more alert and lying down is a nice way to drop into something more relaxed.
Spend a few moments getting comfortable and if you are sitting just ensuring that there is lift and integrity through the spine and if you're lying down there's a sense of space or openness in the body.
Begin to close your eyes or lower your gaze down softening the eyes and allow that softness to just travel down over the face over your shoulders all the way down through the rest of the body.
And here just beginning to notice the breath without changing the breath in any way although by nature illuminating the breath or bringing the breath into conscious awareness often enables the breath to behave differently.
Just notice notice this breath like a wave rolling in rolling out you don't have to do anything it's happening this very natural quality of the breath just as natural as a wave rolling in and out notice how this wave moves through the body and if there is capacity just see if you can slow that wave down maybe expand the wave wider deeper through the body allowing those waves to arch and crash with more depth notice the wave expanding as you breathe in and softening down as you breathe out notice this alive breathing body this expansive ocean this ocean of sensation and dropping deeper down into that ocean of sensation and that ocean of awareness the expansive open quality and depth of awareness and sensation we are by nature deep and mysterious within we hold so much memory sensation awareness depth and just hold that all in the field of awareness and notice as you breathe observing those waves observing that sensation and the expansive quality of awareness and gradually you're going to start to come up for air to the surface so beginning to deepen the breath maybe taking some in through the nose and letting them go out through the mouth and maybe a sigh or a sound or a hum wants to come out of the body and as you begin to breathe in more allowing the breath to express itself more and retaining that awareness of depth and expansion as you also remain soft but gradually taking a time to come back to a slightly more dynamic breath maybe beginning to move the body around feel free to stay here as long as time allows you to but otherwise you may want to start slowly moving the body coming back into motion
