If you are feeling lonely right now, come to join us for this meditation to reconnect with yourself. Let us hold space for loneliness and allow all related emotions to arise. It is not wrong to feel disconnected. Be gentle and compassionate to yourself as you go to this intense yet common human experience.

Welcome,
My friends.
Thank you for joining us for this meditation.
Today's meditation is going to be about loneliness and connection.
So let's take a moment to just connect with our breath.
Let's take a deep breath as we inhale,
Expand the body.
Keep inhaling until you cannot anymore,
And then just pause for a moment,
And then slowly exhale with your mouth.
Let's do it another time.
Inhale deeply,
Pause for a moment,
Exhale very slowly.
Let's do it one last time.
Inhale deeply,
Expand the body,
And then hold for a moment,
Exhale slowly.
And then we can come back to a natural rhythm of our breath.
Begin to feel as we inhale how the body is expanding,
Rising,
And as we exhale how the body is naturally relaxing,
Releasing.
There's no rush.
Simply allow ourselves to feel our in-breath and out-breath.
Enjoy each in-breath,
Enjoy each out-breath.
And if you're feeling disconnected and lonely right now,
We just allow that feeling to arise without any judgment.
Simply allow it to come.
Let ourselves feel it fully.
What is the texture of this feeling?
Where is it in the body?
Simply take notice how this feeling feels.
We don't need to analyze it.
We don't even need to think about how to fix it,
How to get away from it.
Loneliness is a feeling,
There's no right or wrong.
Just allow ourselves to feel.
And our breath is always here,
Being with us on this journey.
It's okay to be lonely.
It's okay to feel disconnected.
It's part of the cycle and the process of being a human on earth.
We will go through different periods where we feel more lonely and disconnected.
So at this moment,
Let's just allow ourselves to embrace whatever that's present.
This feeling of loneliness,
There's nothing wrong with you,
And it's not wrong that you're feeling lonely.
Let's just take a moment to allow ourselves to just be with this feeling.
Let us be the person we need right now to accompany us through this feeling.
It's almost as if you can imagine yourself holding yourself,
Giving yourself a hug,
Telling yourself that it's okay,
That you are here,
You're not going anywhere.
You are right here,
Right now,
With you.
Just simply being with this feeling of loneliness.
You become the person you need right now to offer yourself the love and the compassion that you need.
You can always come back to your breath,
Come back to the inhale,
Inhaling the love and compassion,
The support from the universe,
From nature,
From air,
The very air that connects everything.
The same air that we're all inhaling together,
Exhaling together,
With all beings on earth.
The plants,
The flowers,
The trees,
The animals,
The birds.
The feeling of loneliness is very real.
So we can validate this feeling,
Acknowledge and validate it.
You have to correct yourself that you're lonely.
This is a feeling you're experiencing right now,
And it is okay.
Allow yourself to take it in,
Inhale,
Exhale.
You are cultivating a space where you are holding space for yourself.
You're holding space for your pain of loneliness,
This intense feeling of disconnection and some sadness involved with it,
But in this space,
Everything is okay.
You're allowed to feel lonely,
And you are connecting with yourself.
You are becoming the very person you need right now,
Offer you the love and connection that you need.
From this moment of connection,
It expands to all the invisible connection that we have in our life,
The connection we have with nature.
Just take a moment,
Remember how we feel when we're in nature,
The connection that we have with the land,
When you feel some breezes coming through,
The sun,
All this invisible connection that we have with Mother Earth,
With nature.
Yes,
You're feeling lonely,
But you're not alone.
You're connected to so many things.
Even remember,
There's a person near life,
Whether they're alive or no longer present physically on this earth,
Remember that connection you have with this person,
Maybe a friend or family member,
That connection is never broken.
Even if you just take a moment to remember that connection,
Instantly,
You are there with this person,
With this connection.
How does connection feel in your body?
Any connection that you want to feel right now,
We can invite them.
It could be connection with a person,
It can be connection with an invisible being,
It could be if you have a religion,
It can be with a god that you believe in,
Or just even with an element,
You can connect with the element of air,
Water,
Earth,
Fire.
If we feel that we want to connect,
If we want to try to open up,
The connection is always there for us.
We don't have to think too hard about it.
Even just connecting with ourselves,
With our breath,
That's a connection.
As we inhale and exhale,
Feeling the connection with your body,
With how you are at this moment,
There is a connection.
Your mind connecting with your heart,
Connecting with your body,
Connecting with your soul,
All these different layers of connection,
It's just happening within yourself,
You don't have to go anywhere.
So let's just take a moment to connect with whatever you desire at this moment.
Just let it come to you,
Just trust.
If nothing else,
Connect with your breath,
That is enough.
Slowly let's put our hands in front of our hearts,
Feel your chest rising and falling as you inhale and exhale.
Thank you for this moment.
Thank you for the feeling of loneliness.
It brings you back to yourself,
To your body,
Acknowledging the need for connection and here you are,
Connecting with your body,
With yourself.
Feel the warmth of your body.
Thank you for your body,
For containing this experience,
For being with you.
And feel your heartbeat.
You are still alive,
Your heart is still beating,
The life force is still within you.
Look at all these different levels of connection that you are having,
Just by taking a moment to feel,
To connect,
To allow everything to be.
The feeling of loneliness is still present,
But now you have more capacity to hold space for it.
Be gentle with yourself,
Be compassionate to yourself.
Take a moment to connect from time to time,
Even call a friend,
Connect with an animal,
To nature.
There's so much connection waiting for you to explore,
To feel.
Meanwhile,
It's also okay to be lonely,
That this feeling of loneliness leads you to more connection.
But even when you cannot feel and see those connections,
That it is okay to just be lonely and connect with yourself.
See in yourself,
There's all these different layers of connections waiting for you as well.
