Let go of attachments, worries, and habits from the previous year and welcome the new year with a new version of yourself. This meditation is all about visualisation and your perceived idea of the person you would like to be. You can also include the goals and achievements that you would like to strive for. Believing is half the work in making this work for you.

Welcome to this guided meditation,
Designed to bring peace,
Relaxation and the opportunity to envision a fresh start in the new year.
The turning of the year is a time of reflection,
But also a time for setting intentions and embracing new possibilities.
As we move through this meditation,
You will gently leave behind the weight of the past and focus on a brighter,
More empowered version of yourself for the year ahead.
You are about to embark on a journey that will not just relax your body and mind,
But also help you manifest your dreams,
Goals and a renewed sense of self.
This meditation can be practised at the end of the day as you prepare to drift off to sleep,
Allowing your subconscious mind to align with your intentions.
As you relax deeper into this journey,
We will visualise the new you,
A stronger,
More confident and more peaceful version of yourself.
Settle into a comfortable position,
Lying down or sitting somewhere you feel safe and warm.
Let's begin by closing your eyes and letting your body fully relax into the space beneath you.
Breathe in deeply and as you exhale,
Feel any tension begin to melt away.
Let's start by taking a few moments to reflect on the year that has passed.
Without judgement,
Bring to mind the experience you have had over the last 12 months.
Some of those moments may have been filled with joy,
While others may have been challenging.
Whether easy or difficult has brought you to this moment,
And each has contributed to your growth.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely and as you exhale,
Let go of any heaviness you may be carrying from the past year.
Allow your breath to help you release any tension,
Disappointment or stress.
With each exhalation,
Imagine yourself becoming lighter,
More at ease,
As though you are gently shedding layers of the past.
Now as you continue to breathe deeply and slowly,
Begin to focus on the lessons you've learned.
Maybe there were moments where you found strength you didn't know you had,
Or perhaps you discovered new qualities within yourself.
Visualise those lessons as golden threads woven into the fabric of your being.
Each one is a gift,
Even the challenges.
Let yourself feel gratitude for these moments,

It's time to fully relax and allow your body to rest.
Start by bringing your attention to your toes,
Wiggle them slightly,
Feeling the soft fabric against your skin.
As you exhale,
Let go of any tightness in your toes and feet,
Allowing them to relax completely.
Feel the warmth spreading through your feet as though they are becoming heavy and still.
Now move your awareness to your ankles and calves,
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine all the tension in your lower legs melting away.
Your calves soften,
Sinking deeper into the surface beneath you.
Let the relaxation travel up to your knees,
Feeling your entire lower body grow heavy and relaxed.
Bring your focus now to your thighs and hips,
These are strong muscles that carry you through the day,
But right now,
They deserve a rest.
As you breathe out,
Feel the muscles in your thighs release,
Softening completely.
Your hips follow,
Relaxing deeply as you allow any tightness to dissolve.
Shift your focus to your lower back and abdomen,
Often we hold tension here without even realising it.
As you inhale,
Imagine a soft wave of relaxation flowing through your lower back,
And as you exhale,
Let go of any discomfort or tightness.
Your abdomen rises and falls gently with each breath,
Softening with every exhalation.
Now move your focus to your chest and upper back,
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Let your chest open and expand,
Releasing any tension around your heart.
Feel your upper back relax,
The muscles softening and letting go.
Your breath is slow and steady,
Flowing effortlessly in and out.
Bring your awareness now to your shoulders and arms,
A lot of the time we carry the weight of the world in our shoulders,
But now is the time to release that burden.
As you exhale,
Feel your shoulders drop,
Relaxing completely.
Your arms grow heavy and warm,
Resting comfortably by your sides.
Your hands and fingers are soft and completely at ease.
Finally,
Move your focus to your neck and face,
Notice if you're holding any tightness here,
And with your next exhalation,
Imagine all the tension dissolving.
Your jaw relaxes,
Your forehead smooths,
And your entire face softens.
Your neck is completely relaxed,
And your head feels heavy,
Resting comfortably on your pillow.
Now imagine your entire body bathed in a warm golden light.
This light represents the new you,
Peaceful,
Confident and full of possibility.
As your body rests in this deep state of relaxation,
Allow your mind to drift towards sleep.
You have set your intentions for the new year,
Visualised the person you are becoming.
And now it's time to let go and trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should.
There is no rush,
No pressure,
You are exactly where you need to be.
Your mind and body are working together,
Aligning with your intentions,
Even as you sleep.
Feel the weight of your body sinking deeper into your bed,
Your breath soft and steady.
The golden light of your intentions surrounds you,
Comforting and warm,
Like a protective blanket.
As you drift off,
Know that the seeds that you have planted tonight,
The intentions for a new you,
Are already beginning to take root.
With each night of rest,
Each day of mindfulness,
You are growing into the person you are meant to be.
Let your subconscious take over,
Knowing that you are supported by the universe,
You welcome the new year with an open heart and an open mind.
