Allow yourself to let go as you listen to the guidance in this sleep meditation. There is no countdown in this session, just an encouragement to relax the best you can and to allay any thoughts. Bedtime should be a safe place for you to find relaxation without internal chatter or other intrusions.
Transcript
Night time brings a break to any hectic activity of the day.
Take this moment to adjust your mind and body into this calm atmosphere.
As the quietness of stillness prevails,
Your breathing begins to automatically slow down,
Readying you for sleep.
You may feel your muscles and limbs descending as they relax.
Follow with it,
Follow that feeling.
With everything beginning to be calmer,
Allow any thoughts to drain down your body.
Proceeding to let go of any concerns,
Your head settles down into your pillow in reassurance and relief.
As your eyes follow the thoughts that descend down your body,
Your brows,
Eyelids and cheeks soften in silence and restfulness.
Your mind a little clearer now,
You observe your concerns passing down your mouth,
Chin and throat,
Leaving a very relaxed sensation on your whole face.
Your head automatically sinks downwards in peacefulness as your jaw loosens and the muscles in your neck release.
Calm in stillness,
You feel the muscles in your shoulders and the tops of your arms unfurl,
Bringing with it deeper breaths of tranquility.
As your concerns continue to descend down your body,
Observing your thoughts float down to your hips,
Your abdomen clears to an undisturbed stillness.
Down further,
Your thoughts slide down your legs,
Making them feel heavy as you progress,
Each muscle in your hips and lower back descends.
With your awareness now fading with a contented satisfaction,
For this present moment,
Your eyelids become heavier.
Each moment that passes brings yet more settled sensations of calmness,
Your mind now clear to begin drifting off.
As your legs now discard your thoughts,
They tingle down to the soft surface you lie upon,
As your feet now heavily rest.
Relaxing in complete fulfilment,
The natural aches of your body adjusting for sleep is blissful.
With your concerns exiting down your feet and out of your toes,
Every muscle loosens from opening the door to sleep.
Calm and very content,
Your shoulders beautifully slide down as each arm loses awareness.
Guided into a heavy and very sleepy state,
Your forearms are liberated down,
Along with your wrists,
Hands and fingers.
Each finger now relaxed as your palms become softer on each clarifying and deeply satisfying breath.
Observing the clean space in your mind,
You see only a positive scene in a soft light far off,
A place of relaxation,
Rest and refreshment.
Looking into your minds eye or your imagination,
You see the dim light,
Perhaps out of focus,
Slowly getting closer.
As you look on,
You begin to see colours and shapes being more distinguishable.
With your awareness fading from the present moment and drifting slowly into sleep,
You see the scene much clearer now.
Delicate leaves of a lush green forest wave in a gentle warm night time breeze.
The moon glows in the darkest of blue skies and stars shimmer which brings a sense of magic to this moment.
Still,
Silent and serene,
You rest on the softest of beds in front of you.
Soft wispy clouds float far away into the horizon,
Like your thoughts of today drifting off.
Feeling warm,
Comfortable and very safe,
You close your eyes to hear only the soft breeze of the night.
The fresh night time air makes you deeply sleepy as you take each breath of relief.
There is nothing more to think about in this moment,
Except how calm and still this moment makes you feel.
Every part of your body now slowly descending further into a very relaxed state.
With your awareness now gradually dimming,
You only hear your own breathing,
Each breath becoming deeper and longer.
Observing your chest rising and lowering,
The muscles in your back and neck loosen further,
Allowing your head,
Arms and legs to become heavier.
Now feeling complete bliss,
Your face softens as the breaths of sleep now relax your every thought further.
This moment defines peacefulness,
A time for yourself to reconnect and be in sync with balance.
Thoughts are healed without the internal chatter of distracting and sometimes divided thought.
Any future thinking now becomes a thing of the past as you find stability of this present moment.
With each breath in comes more relief,
More positivity.
On each breath out you feel calmness,
Stillness and a focal point to allow your mind to go deeper.
Perhaps you gaze out at a star in the pleasant night time sky,
Or ponder at the glow of the soft moon that shines.
No matter where you look,
You drift further into a silent contentment.
As you allow your mind to go anywhere it wants to go,
The positivity of the here and now subconsciously lowers your body into a deep relaxed state.
Heavier your body becomes,
Every deeper breath continues to further your travel into your unconscious mind.
In this moment you find a sense of being at one with yourself and everything around,
Each eyelid becoming heavier as your face loosens more,
You gently close your eyes for today.
Looking in the atmosphere of peacefulness from the sounds of this sleepy night,
You let go,
Giving your attention only to falling asleep.
Clear in mind and relaxed in body,
Everything begins to fade off and away.
Your awareness only swayed as you hear the leaves softly rustle in the trees.
Your bed is a comfortable sanctuary of safety.
Peace and rest,
You slowly sink deeper.
The delicate lavender flowers of the forest that surround your bed help relax every part of your body.
The sweet scent clears a path for sleep.
Now following the scent of sleep,
You sense its beautiful bouquet of effervescence and untroubled energy.
You feel at peace and are encouraged to relax further.
Your subconscious now flows in the same stream of positivity and comfort that the night air provides,
Alleviating all parts of your mind and body of discomfort.
Reassured by the immense pleasure you feel in this moment,
The last of any thought dissolves away.
Now,
Slowly descending further in body and deeper in mind,
You sleep a good night's sleep.
As you sleep,
You reinvigorate positive thought,
Regain perspective and refresh balance.
Your muscles rest with a memory of tonight's peaceful slumber,
To sleep once again in a similar fashion on every night that follows.
Your strength and composure is strengthened with every breath in as you breathe out the breaths of today.
As you sleep,
The innate ability to be in sync with yourself and everything around becomes easier.
For now,
You sleep a restful,
Peaceful slumber.
