Before You Interact: Regulate Your Energy First
Before you interact with others, your internal state matters more than you think. In this short talk, I share why grounding your nervous system first can completely change how you show up — helping you feel more contained, clear, and less affected by external energy. If you often feel overwhelmed, reactive, or like you absorb too much from others, this will help you understand what’s happening and why learning to regulate first makes such a difference.

Why is it important to get into a coherent kind of space?
And what I mean by coherent is to drop into your heart and listen to your head before walking into a room.
So there's many reasons.
People can typically are energy readers to a degree and they can feel the energy off you without even words or non-verbal.
There's more to it than just that.
Two,
You just speak differently when you are centered.
So when you're centered,
You're typically of more a service standpoint,
Trying to help people,
Trying to lift people.
You're not trying to prove yourself.
You're not trying to one-up or look better than.
You're just trying to be there and be present.
And people can feel that and you feel that and that energy shifts.
I remember going into many yoga classes.
I've done so many yoga trainings and some of the teachers would say the words and it was fine.
It landed and the poses were great and there's no judgment there.
It was fine.
And then there were other teachers that you could just feel were coherent walking into the room.
I don't know if they did a little meditation before they walked into the room.
I don't know if they were just in that state more often.
I did ask one of them once what they did and they said they just did a quick centering before they taught the class and you could feel it.
It was palpable.
The words they spoke,
You could feel a different energy behind them.
So what I'm encouraging you to do is to try to do something that gets you into a tiny bit of coherence before your interactions,
Before you respond to email,
If you work with students or people before you communicate.
You're not going to be perfect at it.
You're going to have moments that are messy but the more you do this you're going to see that you're impacting people on a greater level and then you start having more fun in your job realizing that it's more service-based than you realized and you're putting more good out there.
Let me know how it goes and I hope it helps.
