Sometimes,
In order to really start,
We must first really stop,
And that's what we'll do here.
Just taking a moment to stop,
Slow down,
Return to the ground of the present moment,
And then start from here.
If you like,
Your eyes can be closed,
They don't have to be,
But if that feels right,
You can allow the eyes to close.
You can make any adjustments to your body,
Whatever allows you to settle in here just a little bit more deeply,
And you might just take a few deep breaths,
Or simply allow the breath to breathe however it wants to.
Along with the breath,
You can also allow the body to release,
Relax,
Whatever it might be holding onto,
And breathing out,
Releasing the past and the future,
Like you're opening a door,
And breathing in,
And allowing the present moment to become who you are.
Feeling the momentum of your life slowing down,
And maybe even arriving at a complete stop.
Maybe,
Feeling awareness,
Without any words added,
No commentary,
No interpretation,
No planning,
Maybe for just another 30 seconds.
Awareness,
Without words.
And now,
If it feels right,
You might invite in words,
Inviting the mind to think,
But thinking from the present moment.
What thoughts arise from here?
It might be a word,
Or a statement,
Or maybe an image,
Or a question,
A topic,
Something you'd like to explore,
And it could be nothing at all.
Nothing is still something,
So just inviting the mind to think,
And noticing what happens.
Okay,
And now you might just take a few more deep breaths.
You can allow the body to relax or release again,
Noticing any tension that might just keep arising under the surface,
And each new exhale is a new opportunity to let it go.
And now you might just feel the wheel of your life beginning to move.
You might feel yourself beginning the day again,
Just right now.
And maybe even on the deepest level,
Starting your whole life,
Just right now.
And now,
Very gradually,
If your eyes were closed,
No rush to do this,
But you can just allow them to reopen whenever they want to.
And now,
You can begin,
For the first time.
