Investigation Of The Buddha's Seven Factors Of Enlightenment Or Awakening

This meditation is an investigation of the Buddha's seven factors of enlightenment or awakening. I have left ample silence in between instructions for contemplation of these factors. Mindfulness, Investigation, Energy, Tranquility, Rapture, Concentration, and Equanimity. With regular practice, these words become our regular states of mind. The Buddha told us to come see for ourselves. I hope you will join me to see the wisdom in his teachings.

So start by settling into your meditation posture, Allowing the back to be straight without any tension. Let your shoulders fall away from your head and let your eyes gently close. Let your hands be together in your lap or on your knees, Wherever is comfortable, And just relax into the stillness. Letting your awareness focus on your natural breathing. And then take three deep, Slow breaths, Alerting the mind and body that a meditation is a very important part of your meditation. In the Anapanasati Sutta, Buddha instructed the following. He said, On whatever occasion we abide contemplating the body as a body, We are ardent, Fully aware and mindful. Having put away covetousness and grief for the world, On that occasion unremitting mindfulness is established. Next, The Buddha tells us, Abiding thus mindful, We investigate and examine that state with wisdom and we embark upon a full inquiry into it. We investigate.
