Hello and welcome.
My name is Carolyn Ziehl.
Thank you for joining me today.
We're going to sit and breathe and close our eyes and do a little journaling together.
So find yourself in a comfortable position.
You may wish to have your journal by your side.
It is always optional.
When you feel ready,
Close your eyes and let's breathe together.
Taking a deep breath in,
Holding it at the top and let's sigh it out.
And another.
And as you do,
Notice what happens in your body as you breathe in,
Holding it at the top and releasing.
Let's do another.
Breathing in,
Holding it at the top and release.
And just settle in to your body and your breath,
Allowing any thoughts that come to float on by.
And serve them tea,
Just let them float on by.
If some of those thoughts are too consuming,
Too repetitive,
Too loud,
Feel free to drop them into your journal and release them there.
Breathing into yourself as you breathe.
In Deepak Chopra's book,
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success,
The third law is the law of karma or cause and effect.
And it states,
Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind.
What we sow is what we reap.
Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind.
What we sow is what we reap.
And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others,
The fruit of our karma is happiness and success.
I invite you to breathe into this idea for a moment.
The law of karma,
Cause and effect.
Breathing into yourself as you breathe.
Swami Vivekananda writes,
Karma is the eternal assertion of human freedom.
Our thoughts,
Our words,
And our deeds are the threads of the net which we throw around ourselves.
Karma is the eternal assertion of human freedom.
Our thoughts,
Our words,
And our deeds are the threads of the net which we throw around ourselves.
If you feel called,
I invite you to turn toward your journal.
And thinking of these ideas,
This law of karma,
The idea of your thoughts and your words and your deeds as a net that you're throwing around yourself.
This idea of throwing your thoughts and your deeds and your actions over your shoulders and wearing them out into the world.
I invite you to write about the law of karma and where you see evidence of it in your life.
And as you write,
Don't worry about what comes up.
Just write,
Don't overthink it.
You're looking at your life and noticing what you put out into the world and how it has come back to you.
I'll give you a few moments.
I'll be right back.
I'll be right back.
Karma is both action and the consequence of that action.
It's a cause and effect at the same time,
Every action generates a force of energy that returns in like kind.
If you want more love,
Show more love,
Not just to yourself,
But to those around you.
You would like to receive more money,
More abundance at the market.
When you see that little charity container,
Drop some coins into it.
These actions,
These karmic energetic actions do not need to be huge.
They can be as simple as a smile,
As simple as shooting an email out to someone and saying,
Hello,
I was just thinking about you.
I love you.
A hug,
A kiss on the cheek.
I invite you to turn toward your journal and write about what you desire more of in your life and how you can express that.
Put it out into the world,
How you can make conscious choices to put more of what you desire out into the world.
I'll be right back.
I'll be right back.
I'll be right back.
I'll be right back.
Today,
As you go about your day and every day,
I invite you to practice asking yourself the question,
What are the consequences of the action I'm about to take?
What are the consequences of the choice I'm about to make?
Without driving yourself crazy or beating up on yourself,
Please gently ask,
If I do this,
What will the ripple effect out into the world be?
And just to seal our practice,
You might want to turn toward your journal and write how you will put the law of karma into effect today.
You might write something like,
Today I will put the law of karma into effect by,
And then see what happens as you write.
I'll leave you here with your journals and your writing and that idea of what we put out into the world comes back in like kind,
How the choices we make matter and how it doesn't take a lot to make change in this world.
It can be as simple as a smile or a hug.
I believe when we keep things small and simple,
That ripple effect is greater than we know.
Thanks for spending some time with me.
Thanks for journaling with me.
Namaste.
