Today's message is Seven of Candles,

Reversed.

This is the second time we've pulled this card reversed this month.

Negotiation.

Self-defense.

Principles.

Advantage.

Stepping out onto the stage of life is both exhilarating and terrifying.

Will we succeed?

Will we be accepted by our peers?

The many obstacles that we face are often initiated in the internal world,

And our fears are far greater in our own minds than they can possibly be in the apparent world.

In this card,

We see that dynamic play out in a child's first performance,

Which so often takes place during the annual school holiday show.

Excitement can often be indistinguishable from nerves and apprehension.

It is a time to test one's mettle and see when those curtains open,

Whether we can demonstrate valor and courage or be humiliated.

The fear of humiliation and of being shamed is ingrained into this card.

Our creativity begins within the mind.

To externalize it is to open oneself up to potential jeopardy.

This can lead to an inner conflict,

And our early experiences of this will define how we deal with the obstacles that we are likely to face in adulthood.
