This meditation is created specifically to guide you into sleep using your imagination as you explore the colors of the rainbow. Please do not worry if you get to listen to the whole thing, or if you forget to listen or fall asleep, this journey will be exactly how it’s meant to be for you as you let go of the day and ease into sleep feel comforted and relaxed. Good night and sweet dreams.

Transcript

Hi and welcome to this sleep meditation,

A journey through the colors of the rainbow.

So if you're already now tucked up in bed,

You can go ahead and just close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in,

Just follow the in-breath.

Breathing in,

Exhale,

Letting go of the day,

Getting comfortable where you're lying.

You may notice the softness of the blankets or the pillow,

The fabric of the duvet and just letting the breath guide you.

Allowing each breath to relax you and get you ready for a good night's sleep as we go on the journey of the colors of the rainbow.

Using your own imagination,

Perhaps now you can imagine all of the stars in the night sky and the big bright moon and right there in the night sky you see a rainbow.

Usually you see a rainbow during the day but tonight in the night sky you are imagining your own rainbow.

You're seeing all of the colors of the rainbow.

You can make this rainbow as small or as big as you like.

I want you to imagine that each color of that rainbow is like a slide,

As if you are going on a journey through the rainbow and all of the colors.

Each color representing something different to you.

This is your journey,

Your journey so you can feel calm and relaxed as you go to sleep tonight and you may find that you're becoming a little more sleepy as you imagine each color and that's okay.

Even if you forget to listen and you simply fall asleep,

That's okay too.

You can always listen again tomorrow.

So getting on the first slide,

The first color of the rainbow,

The color red.

As you slide down that rainbow surrounded by that beautiful red color.

The red color here,

Notice what's it representing to you.

Sometimes the red color can feel comforting like you're supported here as you go to sleep.

But just notice what it means to you.

Maybe there is something you think about immediately when you think about the color red.

Maybe something from a favorite book or a favorite flower.

Or simply just that it feels supportive right now and relaxing.

Going down the slide of the red color,

Perhaps you can just notice what you see and feel as you go down that slide.

Letting go of the day and just allowing the body and the mind to relax now.

You may notice how soft the pillow feels on your head now and how you're getting ready to sleep comfortably and safely.

Just notice what the red color is representing to you.

I am safe as I go to sleep now.

Then taking another step onto the next slide of the rainbow,

Down the slide of the color orange.

What do you see as you slide down that slide surrounded by the color orange?

What does the color orange remind you of?

Sometimes orange can feel like it ignites joy.

Maybe there's something specific that you like that's orange.

Maybe you think of a certain thing,

A certain book,

Something in nature,

Something in your home that reminds you of joy,

Laughter.

Maybe something that makes you feel inspired even.

What inspires you about the orange color?

Carry on down the slide of the rainbow through the orange color and let it take you on the journey that's meant for you right now so you can feel relaxed and ease into sleep comfortably and safely with all the colors of the rainbow surrounding you,

Making you feel safe and loved and comforted here.

And then when you're ready you decide to get on the slide of the color yellow.

And yellow feels fun.

And so as you go down the slide surrounded by the yellow color,

Just notice what's surrounding you.

Maybe there are happy things here,

Things that during the day makes you smile.

Maybe it's things or people or moments.

Maybe that's even making you smile right now as you fall asleep.

What does the yellow color represent to you?

I am happy.

I am joyful.

I am safe as I fall asleep now.

I allow myself to relax a little deeper now.

Surrounded by the colors of the rainbow.

And notice if there is a specific thing of the color yellow like a sunflower or something else that means something to you,

That you like that's yellow.

Sliding down the slide into relaxation.

And then you enter in to the next slide,

Sliding down the rainbow surrounded by the color green.

Green representing love.

So remembering that you are loved as you go to sleep tonight.

I am loved.

I am love.

Letting this green color represent whatever feels good to you,

Whatever you think of when you think of the color green.

Maybe the grass under your feet,

Or the leaves on the trees,

Or something else that's your favorite.

When you think of the color green,

Remembering that you are loved.

Surrounded by that loving energy now as you gently ease into sleep.

Surrounded by the colors of the rainbow.

You might start to feel a little sleepy now.

That's okay.

Go ahead.

Relax.

It's okay if you fall asleep now.

Sliding down the colors of the rainbow.

As you step onto the slide of the color blue.

You might notice how the color blue feels calming here.

Really,

Really calming.

Like the whole body feels relaxed and calm.

And you can notice now what the blue color represents to you,

Or what you think about.

When you think about the color blue.

Maybe something that makes you feel calm.

Like the sky during the day,

Or the sound of the ocean,

Or a picture of the ocean.

Maybe something you really like that's blue.

Feeling so calm and relaxed now.

Getting a little sleepy.

Falling asleep.

Feeling loved and safe.

Notice what else you're noticing.

Journeying through the color of blue.

And stepping onto the slide of the color indigo.

Sliding down the rainbow.

Surrounded by the color indigo.

Feeling so calm and so relaxed.

Exploring what you are noticing here as you journey through the color indigo.

Notice what you notice.

Maybe it's taking you through a magical forest.

All of your favorite things that makes you feel relaxed,

Safe,

Calm and loved.

And then stepping onto the last color of the rainbow.

The color purple.

Sliding down the purple color of the rainbow.

Feeling so connected and safe and relaxed.

Noticing how you like to just sleep now.

Thinking about some of the things you've enjoyed today.

Of something you're grateful for that happened today.

I'm so grateful for.

I'm so grateful for.

I'm so grateful for.

Just simply saying thank you for today.

Looking forward to a really nice sleep now.

Seeing yourself all tucked up in bed safely.

Loved and comforted.

Under the stars.

The moon shining brightly.

And right there under the rainbow.

You can go ahead and make a wish if you like.

Or simply set an intention for a good sleep.

May I have a great sleep tonight.

I am ready for a good sleep now.

Feeling so good about the journey through the colors of the rainbow.

Knowing that you can revisit at any time.

But for now,

With gratitude,

Sleep well.
