As this year comes to an end,
It's time to release.
Oftentimes,
A year is described as the greatest high or the lowest low.
The day-to-day is quickly forgotten.
We summarize the days by months and months as an entire year.
Years from now,
When we think back,
We won't remember the glimmers or triggers.
It'll be an all-encompassing memory or that was a good year or a bad one.
I challenge us to release what was,
Not allowing the bad to overcome the good.
To accept this year for the lessons we learned,
The hurt we felt,
And celebrate the wins,
The accomplishments,
And the success.
To allow our highlight reel to be filled with more joy than sorrow.
As you begin to close your eyes,
Settle into your seat and relax your body.
Start this release with your breath.
In through your nose and out of your mouth.
With each breath,
Release your thoughts.
Don't let the many memories of this year overwhelm you.
Continue breathing and allowing your body to relax further into your seat.
Continue.
In through your nose and out of your mouth.
Continue.
It's okay if thoughts still remain.
Take a deep breath and let yourself know it's okay to release.
If it wasn't desirable,
Let it go.
If it wasn't as expected,
Let it go.
If it didn't bring you joy,
Let it go.
If it didn't bring you peace,
Let it go.
If it's settling into your memory and trying to become the summary of your year,
Let it go.
Sit with what remains.
If you are able to bring a smile to your face,
Let it grow wider and wider.
With one hand to your chest,
A wide smile on your face,
Repeat.
Thank you,
Year,
For everything.
