As you find comfort in your seat,
Rest a hand on your heart.
Breathe in and out and feel the rise and fall of your chest.
Sigh deeply and sell in as you consider the following scripture.
Matthew 5 and 4.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they will be comforted.
Again,
Matthew 5 and 4.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they will be comforted.
If you are grieving the loss of a loved one,
If you're overwhelmed by the grief,
If the sadness is gripping you like a glove and it's hard for you to breathe,
If you don't see the light of the day and joy seems so far away,
Know that God is drawing near to you.
Maybe you question the timing,
The hows and whys seem to ring louder than the praise.
He knows.
God knows your pain.
He knows you're hurting.
He knows you're having a hard time.
And although it won't happen overnight,
It could take some time,
There will be a season of joy again.
You will smile.
You will laugh.
You will see the beauty in the sunset,
And the rainbow at the end of a storm will warm your heart again.
For now,
As you grieve,
Know God is drawing near.
Take another breath.
Fill your chest,
Rise and fall.
I pray your heart will be a little lighter today,
Even if it's the smallest,
Tiniest bit.
One moment,
One day,
One week at a time.
