This meditation is based on Dzogchen teachings from Tibetan Buddhism which declare that everything is perfect just as it is and enlightenment can be instantly found by leaving this moment just as it is. This is called an instantaneous approach to freedom where the struggle to attain anything further is overcome. Nothing has to happen and no time has to elapse, this is because Buddha Nature is eternally present within all states of mind and situations, there is nothing that needs to be added or removed. The key to this meditation is to not change your present experience, not modify anything, not reject anything and not cling to anything. Enlightenment is this moment just as it is. This is not a philosophy to be debated or a lecture, this guided meditation is a profound and ancient method to bring about the deepest realisation of who you really are and the direct experience of an enlightened essence of being.

Hello,

And welcome to MetaJournal.

Today's meditation will be on the Great Natural Perfection.

Let's begin by tuning into your body.

Correcting your posture,

Sitting up straighter.

Sitting up in a noble position.

As you breathe in,

Straighten up.

As you breathe out,

Relax.

Let go of tension.

And rest the body.

As we begin our meditation,

We try to reclaim all of our scattered energy.

Bring it back to the now.

Breathing in,

Reclaiming your energy.

Bringing it here,

And now.

Breathing out,

I am at home in the present moment.

Let your body settle and relax.

Let your mind settle and relax.

Yet let your feelings and emotions settle.

Calm,

Relax.

Anchor your attention on your breath.

Let go of thoughts.

Not planning for the future.

Not reliving the past.

Tuning into your breath.

Focus on your breath.

On the simple joy of being alive.

As you breathe in,

Experience your body being energised by your breath.

As you breathe out,

Experience your body relaxing.

Letting go of tension.

Letting go of the past.

And give yourself permission to experience the simple joy of just being.

Become aware of your stillness.

Both your body stillness and the inner stillness behind the thoughts.

Connect and be aware of stillness.

Simply breathing.

Simply sitting.

And simply letting things be.

Just being.

I invite you to be aware of awareness.

Turning your attention around and noticing awareness.

I'd like to point out a very special quality of awareness.

And that is,

It is spontaneous.

And effortless.

Being aware of my thoughts is easy.

There's no effort.

Being aware of my voice.

You don't have to try.

You don't have to turn your ears on.

Your awareness is spontaneously aware.

Without effort.

Without trying.

Listening to the music.

You don't have to try.

Your awareness is spontaneous.

It arises without effort.

It is just there.

Always.

Notice that your awareness is spontaneous and effortless.

Connect with that.

Become that.

Without effort,

You are just here and aware.

Without effort,

Your awareness is natural and spontaneous.

Notice your awareness has no self or ego.

It simply hears and sees,

Tastes,

Touches.

Naturally.

Easily.

There is no centre to awareness.

It is open,

Spacious and natural.

Connect to the absence of ego.

To that natural openness.

And just be it.

Whenever you hear a sound,

See a sight,

Think a thought,

That means awareness is present.

Remember that.

Every experience you have,

Awareness is at its base.

Awareness is always there.

Naturally.

Effortlessly.

Become aware of awareness.

Without effort or forcing anything.

Just be awareness.

Noticing the stillness of awareness.

The silence of awareness.

The no self of awareness.

The spaciousness,

Openness of awareness.

The spontaneity of awareness.

It just is.

And without effort,

Just be awareness.

Naturally perfect.

Without effort.

Let go of controlling anything.

And just be awareness.

Let your attention be free.

Because awareness is spacious and unbounded.

It is everywhere.

It has no centre.

Don't place your attention inside.

Don't place your attention outside.

Don't put it anywhere in the middle.

Set free your attention.

Without being distracted.

Mindfully here and now.

With nothing to put your mind on.

Grasping at nothing.

But not distracted.

Naturally perfect.

Without putting your mind or attention anywhere.

Free your mind.

Stay present and mindful.

Just awareness.

Aware of nothing.

And therefore free to experience everything.

The great natural perfection of just being.

Open and free.

Rest your mind.

Rest your heart.

Nothing to meditate on.

But not distracted.

Simply sitting.

Simply breathing.

Effortlessly being.

That concludes our meditation on the great natural perfection.

I would now like to invite you to just sit.

For the next few minutes,

No more technique.

Nothing left to do.

Nothing to get right.

And nothing to get wrong.

Just sitting.

Wow. Found 'my' meditation. After a year or so of trying, on and off, different techniques, guided or not. Still feeling like a beginner. But this 'non-technique' hit home with me. I got it. I felt it. Great job easing the listener into it. Thank you!

Ahh, simple guided meditation which makes it more effective. Allows me to just be, free from doing, free of my ego’s narrative. This brought me back into deeper awareness and now I feel better.

Really like the way you guide me towards base awareness with choice words and soothing background sounds, then leave a few minutes at end with no distraction. I stayed with it long after the music stopped.
