In periods of time when everything feels wild and disorderly,

The chaos that ensues removes us from our own presence.

We feel the locus of control extend beyond our reach.

The buzz from the turbulent energy spirals around our minds and our physical body feels restless.

We get swept up in these moments and carry ourselves at this point of high stress.

When we're there,

We do things like clench our jaw,

Hold our hands in fists,

And take shorter,

More shallow breaths.

Every one of these physical actions creates more stress response in the body.

And when you're swept in those moments,

It feels like nothing can bring you back down to earth.

So let's bring you back down.

Start in a comfortable seat or lying down.

Place the hands palm side down on either the tops of your thighs,

Or have one hand on the heart and the other on your belly.

Begin to feel any connection your body makes with the earth,

Whether that's the soles of your feet,

Your butt in your chair,

Or the back of your heart on the floor.

Bring your eyes to close.

Pause here.

Invite a few slow,

Full breaths into the barrel of the chest.

Relax your jaw.

Allow your shoulders to melt away from your ears.

And again,

Observe where any part of your physical body has come into contact with the earth or whatever surface supports you.

Let's breathe.

Draw a full inhale in through the nose.

And sigh it out the mouth.

Again,

Inhale.

Big exhale.

Allow your breath to come back to a soft but full cadence.

Bring your attention to the top of your head.

Imagine a stream of rainbow colored light coming down from the sky and making contact with the top of your head.

Imagine that colored light begin to drape down over the top of your head to your eyes,

Ears,

Nose,

Mouth,

Down to the tops of your shoulders.

Follow that rainbow light as it melts down your biceps,

Your elbows,

To your forearms,

Wrists,

Palms,

And fingers.

And now feel it envelop around your heart and your chest.

It spirals down around your stomach and your hips.

See that light continue to swirl around your left thigh and your right,

Both knees.

It wraps around your calves and shins,

To your ankles,

Over a top of your feet,

To the bottom of your feet,

And around each of your little toes.

Now imagine that rainbow light radiating in and around your entire physical being.

See and feel it burst with its bright,

Beautiful colored light.

Every color of the rainbow.

Red,

Orange,

Yellow,

Green,

Blue,

Indigo,

Violet.

Feel that colored light cradle you.

And lengthen your hands and your hands to your heart.

To your heart.

Take a nice big full breath.

Take a nice big full breath.
