Transcript

Begin by breathing in through the nose and out through your mouth until you reach a perfect rhythm within.

Imagine a garden of beautiful sunflowers,

All tall and strong,

Standing side by side,

Each with radiant yellow faces and perfectly formed petals.

Each sunflower is the same in some way,

But also different.

Some may even look as though they have faces on them,

Happy,

Joyful and bright.

You feel drawn to walk amongst this beautiful garden of sunflowers,

All with their faces turned upright,

Saluting the sun.

You sit down in this garden of beautiful flowers and become aware of a golden sun above your head.

Sit for a while,

Relax and feel the warmth of the sun on your own face.

Now become aware of your heart space and think about any disappointment,

Anger or resentment you may have been feeling recently.

Decide whether you still hold those feelings in your heart.

Think of the situation that has caused this and decide that you will use the golden sun to help you let it go.

Begin to feel the sunlight like liquid gold flowing in through the top of your head and into your heart.

Imagine your mind and heart coming together,

Having a conversation and with deep breaths,

Your anger,

Frustration and disappointment begin to drift and move out of the heart space,

Out of your mind and a golden,

Glimmering light replaces these feelings.

As you sit silently between the sunflowers in your garden,

You begin to sense a special quality that the sunflower may possess.

Be patient,

Breathe it in from the sunflower's centre and let it fill your mind and heart.

You begin to feel strong and silent like the sunflower and as you tilt your head to receive the gift of sunlight,

You feel a great sense of letting go,

Things that once bothered you don't bother you anymore.

You begin to see things differently from another angle or point of view,

This is what we call perspective,

Seeing situations through different eyes.

Imagine the image of a sunflower now filling your mind and your heart.

You feel totally at peace now floating in this golden sunlight.

You feel safe,

Calm and protected.

When you feel ready to come back from your garden,

Wriggle your fingers and toes,

Come back into your chair,

Feeling fully refreshed,

Calm and centred.

50% baseline.

Was trying to get my 8 year old daughter to join me, so I chose this. She managed 3 minutes ( more than I expected) and I carried on. I found the simplicity really comforting and peaceful, and left the meditation with more hope, and calm, than I was anticipating.
