Take a moment or two to settle,
To make sure you are comfortable.
Let your thoughts drift away like tendrils of mist.
If they're important,
They'll wait for your return.
Breathe now,
A full breath in and a long,
Slow breath out.
Let your eyelids gently close.
Your shoulders drop,
Your jaw loosen.
Breathe.
A full breath in and a long,
Slow breath out.
Relax.
Sink into the surface supporting you.
Breathe.
With each out-breath,
Feel all tension,
Stress,
And dis-ease drain away.
Relax.
Now,
Picture yourself standing in a garden full of the most beautiful roses.
Saturate yourself with the colors.
Fill yourself with the perfumes.
As you wander peacefully between the plants and relax.
Nothing else to do,
Nowhere else to be,
Just you and the roses.
One rose in particular captures your attention.
Focus on its flower,
Its shape,
Its color,
Its petals,
Its stem,
Its leaves.
Smell its fragrance.
Gently touch its petals,
So soft,
So fragile,
So beautiful.
As you observe,
A single drop of rain falls onto the edge of the rose flower.
See the petal through the raindrop,
The play of light.
Follow the slow movement of the water drop as it slides down the petal and drops off.
Watch as more and more drops of rain fall onto the rose.
See how they glisten and move into the center of the rose or off the edges of the petals,
Washing away the dust,
Cleansing,
Refreshing.
Notice the changes in the rose,
How revitalized it is,
How much brighter the color,
How much sweeter the perfume,
How it seems to stand taller and stronger.
Become aware now of the raindrops on your head.
Feel the movement of them onto your face,
Your forehead,
Your cheeks,
Your eyelids,
Your mouth.
Lift your face to the rain.
Catch the drops on your tongue.
Taste it,
Smell it.
The drops increase and become a shower that flows over you and off you,
Washing away the dust,
The stress,
Cleansing,
Refreshing.
Off your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Off your fingers,
On your legs,
Off your feet.
Be one with the rain.
Be like the rose.
Your colors are brighter,
Your perfume sweeter.
You stand taller and stronger.
You are refreshed and revitalized.
You and the rose and the rain.
Namaste.
