
A Meditation Massage
Take time out to give your body a gentle, relaxing, stress removing massage.
Transcript
In this time,
This space,
This place,
You have all the time in the world.
This is your special time,
This moment of now.
So make yourself comfortable.
Let your body sink into the surface supporting you.
Gently close your eyes as you tune into the sound of my voice.
And allow your attention to drift into the space behind your eyes.
Into that soft,
Dark space where it is warm and safe.
Just stand here for a moment and feel yourself start to relax.
Here you can view the blank screen of your mind slightly out of focus.
As you watch,
The focus sharpens to reveal a short flight of stairs leading inward.
Observe the stairs.
These are your stairs.
They are safe and strong.
They will support you.
They lead to the door of your inner sanctuary.
You feel yourself being drawn towards them.
Being drawn into the scene.
But before you enter,
Before you step into the scene and stand on the first step,
Remove all your thoughts about the future beyond this moment.
All your thoughts about the past before this moment.
And place them in the beautiful earthenware urn at the edge of the screen.
And I'll be waiting there for you when you return.
Now enter the screen onto the first step.
Feel a peaceful energy flow up through your feet,
Your legs,
Into your body.
Feel your body relax more and more with each step.
Eight steps in all.
Until you are standing in front of a beautiful door.
Simply touch the door and it will open and take you into a most beautiful room of green.
Soft green plants mixed with colors of flowers.
A beautiful,
Gentle,
Calming room.
Like a garden.
And in the middle of the room there is a massage table and you are drawn towards it.
And you can lie down on it on your stomach and place your face in the soft face hole.
And the moment you lie down on this table you feel the warmth,
The calmness,
The peace of the greenness flowing into you.
And you can look down through the face hole into a mist of green.
The healing color of green.
Or you can close those eyes and as you do so you feel gentle,
Strong hands gently massage your head.
The back of the scalp and just around the crown.
This gentle,
Smoothing,
Soothing massage.
Gentle strong fingers.
Now around those ears.
And down either side of the jaw.
Beautiful gentle strokes.
Calming soothing.
Into the neck and the shoulders.
That place where we hold a lot of our attention.
Breathing gently.
Easing away all of the tension that is in our muscles,
Our tendons and our ligaments.
Removing those knots of anxiety that have built up.
Releasing the pockets of negativity.
Moving into our shoulder blades.
Then over our shoulders and down our upper arms.
That gentle kneading,
Pressing,
Stroking,
Releasing,
Relaxing.
Around the elbows.
And down the lower arms to the wrists.
Massaging your skin and the finer bones of your fingers.
One at a time.
Relaxing,
Relaxing,
Loosening those muscles.
And then back,
Back to your back.
And down the tension either side of your spine.
Down to your waist and your hips.
Gently massaging your buttocks.
And you feel all tension dissolving.
This sense of calmness flowing through you.
And down you into every cell within your body.
Bring down the upper legs,
The back of those thighs.
Beautiful,
Strong,
Gentle fingers.
Around the knees.
And down those calves.
Into the ankles and into the feet.
The soles of the feet.
The heels of the feet.
The balls of the feet.
And every toe,
One at a time.
This beautiful,
Freeing rhythm of relaxation and release flowing through you.
Just scan your body now for any remaining areas of tension.
And direct your focus there.
And feel the gentle hands and fingers tenderly massage it away.
Away.
Away.
It's almost as if the body disappears.
And you drift into the calmness of the green.
Drifting.
Drifting.
Your whole body light as a feather.
Every cell so relaxed,
Free from tension.
From your head to your toes.
From your shoulders to your fingertips.
Drifting into green space.
Any thoughts lightly drifting like passing wisps of cloud.
Enjoy the feeling.
It's time now to leave your inner sanctuary.
Sit up on the massage table and take a moment or two to look around before you depart.
Bring with you a picture of the beautiful room and the feeling of calmness.
As you make your way back through the door to your stairs.
Outwards.
Each step reinforcing the feeling of lightness.
Back.
Back to the screen of your mind.
But before you step into the space behind your eyes.
Remember to collect those thoughts of the future and those thoughts of the past that you left in the urn.
You may be surprised at how many of them no longer want you.
Now step back.
Back.
Out of the space behind your eyes.
Back into this place and this time.
Ready to return to your day or night.
Totally relaxed and free.
