In a quiet and comforting voice, poet and writing coach Cassie Premo Steele reads a few of her poems and pauses for one minute between each one. During this time, you can write in your journal, or meditate, or simply rest. You will find that time slows down during this audio, and this will allow you to feel the prosperity of your own inner creativity and to trust in the bountiful support available for you and what you want to do in your life.

In this JoyWork lesson I'm going to share some poems with you and between each poem I will pause for one minute.

If you like you can journal during these six spaces or you can sit meditatively.

You might choose to do a bit of both.

It's up to you because the message I want to share with you is that you do have choices.

You can do what you want and there is more than enough support for you and what you want to do.

Wave.

Tree with hands of leaves bends to breeze unseen.

This is how we know the wind is there.

Stars still flash beneath.

Blue sky that renders them invisible because of sun's proximity.

This light coming through the window is both wave and particle.

This is called complementarity.

The opposite of true is false.

The opposite of a deep truth is another truth.

I put my daughter's small hand in mine when we crossed a street.

I still feel it there.

The wind and skin are sweet and fair.

The sun eclipsed is just as bright.

All three can create a scar.

As precious as the way she waves and drives away in her own car.

Space is not far.

Spring Equinox My dog is a refugee without papers or certain birthday.

Yet he settles down next to me as if this is the only home he's ever known.

Sun bursts briefly onto pear tree green leaves which only days ago were white blossoms and then hides behind cold March skies again.

I hold a pen in one hand and my face in another as words rain down like spring coming after winter because all balance is an usher that walks us into the chapel of loss.

Spring Equinox Spring Equinox Beautiful,

Brutal.

Some days you wake with the Sun already up and the birds laugh at your late but you barely have time for their pranks because coffee shoes sign the form drive and then there are days of blenders waiting on the counter to be thrown at the protein of tried and fruit of failed and a handful of nuts of memories buried.

A few days arrive still attached to the last like velcro or a sock stuck in the dryer and you slowly take each piece by piece and fold it and smooth it away in drawers and then one day after a lifetime of riding the teeter-totter at night in a playground mostly alone wishing for a rider to balance your story you are finally ready to face the light of the day all on your own in all its beautiful brutal glory.

Spring Equinox Spring Equinox Practice.

The dark can just be dark.

A moth,

Not a tiny dancer with a message for you.

The shadow simply shadow not the ghost of a man aiming for something to do.

The sound you hear can be your dog snoring not from fright but simply sleeping.

Being hardly holds any meaning when you subtract your fear.

Breathing deep and seeing clearly takes many many years and so much practice here.

Spring Equinox Spring Equinox Spring Equinox Include everyone.

The next arc will have to be bigger.

Two by two won't be enough.

The numbers have grown and multiplied.

Take the eggplant,

The loblolly pines,

The cardinals,

The rabbit,

The crows,

The honeysuckle vines,

Azaleas,

Tomatoes,

And books,

A chair,

A creek,

Fishing pole,

Hooks,

Tulip poplar,

Marigold,

Honey,

Cherry,

Rose,

Hydrangea,

And grass,

The skink,

The anole,

Butterfly,

Moth,

Geranium,

Green pepper,

Begonia,

Pomegranate,

Sage,

Lavender,

And avocado,

Apple tree,

Wasps,

Bees,

Palmetto,

Crepe myrtle,

Rose of Sharon,

Finch,

The sweet smelling mint,

Gardenia in bloom,

And this is just what lives in your yard.

You will need so much room.

Imagine the size of that arc.

You better start building.

It will be a long time before you are done.

Include everyone.

May you deeply know that you do have choices,

That you can do what you want,

And that there is more than enough support for you and what you want to do.
