This is a meditation for settling before writing.
Allow yourself to find a comfortable position,
Adjusting hips,
Shoulders,
Spine,
Thighs in a way that feels supported and yet upright and awake.
Place your hands on your thighs or in your lap,
Face up,
Open and receptive.
And then take a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling the belly rise and exhale through your mouth,
Letting go of the old,
The stagnant,
What no longer is necessary.
Continue on your own,
Breathing in through the nose,
Filling the belly and exhaling through the mouth.
Feel yourself letting go of the past physically at a cellular level.
And then let your breath settle into a natural gentle rhythm.
And imagine a golden light above your head,
Gentle,
Full of love beaming down upon you.
Feel the muscles at the top of your head begin to loosen and relax.
And let this energy move down past your forehead,
Your temples,
The back of your head,
Your ears,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks,
The back of your neck,
Your mouth,
Your chin,
Your jaw,
Your neck,
Collarbones,
Shoulders.
Take a deep breath into your heart.
Feel the golden light in your heart.
Simply breathe.
And now focus on the area of your body that is in contact with the earth beneath.
It could be your feet if you're sitting in a chair,
Your buttocks,
Your back.
And as you breathe in,
Pull up the energy of the earth.
A beautiful green energy of growth,
Of sustainability,
Of abundance.
And each time you breathe in,
Breathe up this energy through the base of your body.
And as you exhale,
Exhale it from the heart out in 360 degrees all around,
Out throughout your body.
Into the world around you.
Breathing up from the earth and then exhaling through the heart and releasing.
Do this a few more times on your own.
And then begin to feel the golden light from above and the green light from above,
Blending and mixing,
Swirling within the space of your heart.
Feel the power in that,
The unconditional love,
The creativity.
Place your righting hand on your cheek.
Feel the touch of your hand on your cheek.
Feel your cheek and your jaw opening and softening to your own touch.
And as you breathe in and out in a smooth and gentle way,
Begin to feel the circle between the green and golden swirl of unconditional love in your heart.
Moving up through your arm into your shoulder,
Into your hand and cheek,
Your throat and back into the heart.
Begin to feel the completeness of this circuit.
How your writing comes from your own heart,
Your own mind,
Your own body,
Your own spirit,
But is connected to something so much larger.
From above and below,
The unconditional love,
The great abundance,
The wide support of all that is.
This is with you when you write.
Sit with this wisdom.
And then begin to write.
