Love can only be found in the now.
And so often in our day-to-day lives we act as if love was limited.
As though we need to find it somewhere outside of ourselves.
We need to seek it and get it from our partner or our boss or our children.
Whatever it is,
We act as though love is something outside of us.
And therefore we need to control other people,
Control the world in order to get it.
So in this meditation we will see that our actual experience is that love is here now,
Always.
And eventually the aim will be to act out to express this love in the world.
So whenever you're ready,
Let's make ourselves comfortable.
Breathe in.
And close our eyes.
And try to find love in your experience right here.
At first maybe that will be a positive,
Nice,
Grateful thought in your mind.
Then you might find a pleasant,
Nice,
Warm feeling in the body,
Maybe around the heart.
But we know from experience that our thoughts come and go.
So we cannot always,
All the time,
Have positive,
Grateful thoughts.
And we cannot always,
All the time,
Feel this sense of gratitude and joy in the body.
So the answer,
Love is always in the now,
Is therefore not in these things.
These are nice experiences.
But we have to keep searching for it.
What are the qualities of love?
Love accepts everything as it is.
Love embraces and goes towards whatever experience is in front of it.
Unconditional love is constant.
It is something that we can rely on.
So what in our experience has these qualities?
What in our experience can we rely on?
If it is not the mind,
If it is not the body,
Then what is it?
What is it that is constant?
And the answer is the very sense of being.
The very awareness I am.
And it is within this I am-ness that all thoughts,
All sensations,
All experiences arise.
The body can change,
The mind can think differently.
But our very self remains the same.
And the essence of our self is love.
Awareness itself does not judge different thoughts,
Different feelings,
Different circumstances.
It accepts things as they arise and as they fade.
It embraces them as they are.
And this sense of I am-ness,
This love that you are has no limits.
It has accepted and embraced all of the thoughts you've had so far and all of your future thoughts.
It has embraced and accepted all the feelings that you have had so far and all your future feelings and all your circumstances.
So love is the very essence of yourself.
And that's why it's so easy to overlook it because we get taken,
Our focus gets taken by our thoughts,
By what happens in the body,
By what happens in the world.
But we can just remain with this sense of being.
And then we are free from all experience.
We embrace all experience.
And that's why we are free.
We embrace love.
We embrace love.
We embrace love.
We embrace love.
Thank you.
.
.
Everything you look for is right here.
Everything you seek is right here.
Everything you desire is right here.
.
.
Anytime you are in doubt that love isn't here,
You can ask yourself,
Have I lost my sense of being?
Of being aware of being here?
The answer will always be no.
I am.
.
Whenever you feel lost or don't know what to do in a particular situation,
You can ask yourself,
What would love do?
And this question instantly brings you back to your true self,
The one that has no limits and no fears.
The one that loves everything and everyone.
.
.
.
Paradoxically,
When you know that love is always here,
When you stop seeking it outside of yourself,
That's when things begin happening,
The things you most desired.
Maybe a partner will come up that's perfect for you,
Maybe a job opportunity will come up.
But even that doesn't matter.
What matters is you resting as love,
Knowing where love actually is,
And not attaching your happiness,
Your sense of peace to these things.
And that way they will keep happening.
.
In fact,
Whether they happen or don't happen won't matter to you at all.
Because you will be equally as peaceful and as happy with or without them.
.
.
Love sees no need for anything to be different than it is.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
There is nothing to do to find love and nowhere to go to find love.
It is already here.
.
.
.
.
.
.
In fact,
The more you rest in this spaciousness of being,
You realize that not only do all experiences,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations,
Perceptions,
Appear in us,
But they are made of the same so-called substance that they appear in.
So not only does everything appear in this all-embracing,
All-accepting,
Loving space,
But they are also an expression of it.
.
And knowing this,
We know that everything is perfect as it is,
But that doesn't mean we cannot make it even more beautiful,
More loving,
Through our thoughts,
Feelings,
And actions,
And interactions.
.
So once we know that love can only be found here now,
We can express it through everything that we do.
.
.
Now let's take a few deeper breaths,
And in your own time you can open your eyes.
