Hi everybody and welcome to this meditation on allowing the body to be as it is so often we have unrealistic expectations from our bodies we want them to remain healthy,
Constant,
To give us joy,
Happiness,
Pleasure and make these things last in time.
In this meditation we will see how this leads to a lot of tension and anxiety because we are asking the body to do what it cannot possibly do and we will return to allowing the body to be exactly as it is,
Moment by moment begin by taking a breath in and closing your eyes start by placing your attention on the breath on the inhalation and the exhalation notice how the body changes with each breath all the movement that happens during the inhalation not just around the nostrils but also in the diaphragm and in the belly notice also the more subtle movements that happen in the arms and legs notice how things change with the exhalation the air becoming warmer the body contracting a bit and relaxing these effects constantly affect our brain,
Our sight,
Our heart rate and so much more now you can place your attention on any part of the body and feel how it pulsates whether it's the top of the head the forehead,
The ears your hands,
Your feet your body is alive and present which means also that it's always changing,
Always in movement,
Always in flow really feel these changes happening right now as they always are we call it the body as though it is something static and we have an image of what that body looks like and we call that me me but this concept of me just like the body it is in movement instead of the body we should probably think of it as bodying,
It is happening,
It is continuous by taking that perspective and also knowing ourself as the constant awareness that witnesses all of the changes in the mind,
The body and the world we can allow any change take place as it does we can be present with it,
We can love it and embrace it by being present with the body by witnessing the heartbeat how it swallows,
How it moves the heartbeat how it swallows,
How it moves how it changes after a meal,
After a nap we can let go more and more of the concept of wanting things to be a certain way and just allowing them to take the form to go in the direction that they want to for the second part of this meditation we will do a body scan from the top of the head to the tips of the toes seeing what thoughts come up as we move through the various parts of the body so often things are one way and we want them to be a different way so let's begin with our hair allowing our hair to be just as it is in this moment and in every moment in this moment and in every moment and moving down with your awareness through your eyes your nose,
Your mouth,
Your whole face and head once again seeing what you would like your features to be like and what they are like and accepting them as they are everything unfolds exactly as it is meant to,
Including the way your body looks,
The way your body is keep going down through the neck,
The shoulders,
The arms the upper body,
Lower body,
At your own pace just allowing the body to be exactly as it is no need for it to change in any way,
It is perfect in this moment and in every moment keep going through the lower chakras,
Through the legs all the way down to the feet your body is perfect as it is and remember also not to attach to it looking a particular way but to let it change,
Let it flow,
Let it continue to evolve on the relative levels of the body-mind world,
The only constant is change yet awareness,
Your true self,
Remains the ever-present,
All-loving and all-accepting witness of this constant change thank you for listening
