Take a moment now to pause and center yourself in this moment right now.

As you do this,

I invite you to breathe,

Taking deep breaths and slowing the rate of your breathing.

As you do this,

Scan your body and really see if you can allow yourself to feel your body here right now in the moment that you are in.

As you continue to breathe,

Allow your breath to connect with God's love and his spirit flowing in and through you.

I invite you to gradually begin to shift your focus from the world around you to the world within with an invitation to shift your focus and attention towards the various parts of you.

See if it's possible to open yourself up to hear the voice of your parts and to be a compassionate and loving presence to them as all of you rest in the presence of God,

Knowing and trusting that he is always with you,

Even as the seasons,

The years,

The circumstances of your life are ever shifting and changing.

He is the same yesterday,

Today and forever.

And now I'm gonna invite you to put your attention and focus on a transition in your life,

A change you are facing.

We are gonna make space to notice and connect with parts of you that may be impacted or reacting to this.

So begin by focusing,

Bringing to mind a change or transition that you are in the midst of.

Maybe something in your life is changing.

Maybe a job is changing or ending.

Maybe a relationship is ending or shifting.

Maybe you are moving.

Maybe children are growing up.

Maybe you are entering a new relational phase such as a marriage.

Maybe you are facing a milestone birthday.

Maybe something else entirely is the form of change and transition you are facing.

Change and transition in life can be endless and constant in many ways.

Maybe there's a transition in your calendar such as a new year,

A new season.

Whether seemingly big or small,

Take a moment to honor the reality that change impacts different parts of us.

Often when there's change or transition,

There are parts that want to hold on to the old and there may be parts that are anxious or scared about the new.

There may also be parts wanting to run away from the old,

Wanting to forget the past and only focus on the future.

As you take a moment now to focus on the transition that you are in the midst of,

Bring it up to the forefront of your focus and take a moment just to look at,

Observe,

And contemplate the change.

As you do this,

See if you can open your heart just to be present to the various parts of you that are here right now at this moment in time,

At this time of shift,

Change,

And transition.

As you do this,

I invite you to bring your awareness to what is happening inside of you right now.

Opening up space to notice parts of you impacted by and reacting to the change.

What is happening in your body?

Notice any areas of tension,

Unease,

Elevated energy,

Dizziness,

Or detachment or numbness.

Likely different physical sensations belong to different parts of you.

Can you welcome these parts of you with an open heart?

And now notice what is happening in your mind.

What are your thoughts saying?

Maybe thoughts are reflecting,

Remembering what was.

Maybe thoughts are looking ahead to what is anticipated,

What will be.

Or maybe thoughts are distracting you,

Wanting you to focus on something else entirely.

Can you welcome the parts of you showing up in your thoughts with an open heart?

And now notice your emotions.

Maybe you notice feelings of sadness and grief,

Parts that don't want to let go of what was,

Or that are processing the pain of loss.

Maybe there are parts anxious or afraid of what is to come.

Maybe there are also parts that are excited,

Ready for a new season.

Maybe even eager to rush into the new.

Or maybe other feelings emerge.

Anger,

Disappointment,

Hurt,

Shame,

Or guilt.

Just notice and see if you can be present with what is here.

And with whatever is here,

Even if there are contradictory feelings,

Can you welcome them with openness and love?

And as you begin to notice different parts of you,

You may notice one or two parts that seem to come to the forefront of your attention.

Parts that seem the most present now in this moment.

Or you may notice the presence of a crowd of parts all here right now,

Making themselves known to you.

Either is fine.

Can you breathe deeply,

Using your breath to open up a space of safe presence with whatever is showing up here,

Now,

In this moment.

And now,

As you and all of your parts stand at this crossroads,

Faced with the challenge of transition,

Moving from what was to what will be,

Invite any parts of you that would like to take a moment to be with you,

To draw their attention onto you right now.

Are these parts able to sense your presence?

Can they feel your love?

Maybe there's one particular part that really needs to experience that it is not alone.

Different parts may be responding differently to your presence,

And that is fine.

Some parts may need more focus from you as you continue to move forward.

Change and transition takes time,

And different parts may be on a different timeline in regards to what they need to find more peace.

I'll give you a moment to sit with your parts,

Listening in and opening yourself up as a supporting presence.

As you do this,

Try to listen to what your parts want you to know about them,

And offer your own loving presence to them now.

And now,

At this crossroads,

If it's okay with your parts,

You might consider inviting in the presence of God,

The God who never changes,

To be close,

To be near,

And to be present with any parts of you who are open to this right now.

If there are parts that have concern about this,

Or have concerns about God,

That is fine.

They may want to keep their distance,

Or they may even want space to ask questions of God.

Or there may be parts eager to draw near,

To feel the comfort of his love,

And the light of his guidance.

How is God revealing himself to the different parts of you?

How is he responding to the transition and change that you are in?

Sit with this a moment as a form of listening prayer,

Allowing God to be with any part of you,

Especially needing his love,

Presence,

Reassurance,

Or guidance.

And now,

As we come to a close,

What do your parts need from you in the days ahead?

What support are they longing for from you as you move in transition and change?

Do any parts seem especially needing more attention or focus,

Wanting to be more deeply known or understood by you?

Sit a moment,

Making note of anything that feels important to carry forward,

Knowing that on different days and in different moments,

As you move forward in transition,

Different parts may want or need different things from you and from God.

Can you let your parts know that you will be with them as they journey ahead into the unknown?

And now,

As we close,

Take a moment to continue to breathe,

Gradually transitioning your attention back to the outside world and thanking your parts for being with you today and giving you the opportunity to understand them more.
