Sit in a comfortable position and begin to bring your awareness into your body.

Sense the rhythm of your breath as it comes in and as it goes out.

Invite in a sense of ease with each breath in and notice any tension softening with each breath out.

Breathing in,

Feel the energy flowing through you.

Breathing out,

Notice the pause at the end of each exhalation.

Bring your awareness into this moment.

Notice the stillness of this moment,

No matter what the outer busyness or turmoil may be.

Even beyond the busyness of your own mind,

There is stillness in this moment.

See if you might sense into it,

Opening into the possibility of something deeper,

More stable within.

Imagine that you are the vast ocean and everything else,

Your emotions,

Your physical sensations,

Your thoughts,

Your challenges are waves that come and go.

From the safety of the shore,

Watch the waves rise and fall.

Sometimes the waves might be crashing and tumultuous.

Sometimes they might be calm and flowing.

From the perspective of standing on the shore,

You can look out into the vastness of the ocean and see a larger perspective.

You can sense that deep below the surface of the ocean,

There is a calmness,

A stillness that cannot be disturbed.

Bring your attention back into your body and see if you might sense into that calmness,

That stillness,

That place of stability within,

Which allows you to ride the passing waves.

Settle into that still,

Calm place if you can sense it,

Or if not,

Imagine what it might feel like.

Take some moments to experience that now.

Sense into your own inner stillness and notice what that feels like in your body.

Now call up the inner resources that you have to draw on,

Perhaps resources that you have drawn on in the past,

Such as courage,

Patience,

Equanimity,

Determination,

Surrender,

Acceptance,

Trust or something else.

You might remember a time when you felt this way.

What did that feel like?

See if you might feel that same feeling in your body right now.

If it is courage,

How does courage feel?

If it is acceptance or something else,

See if you can sense into a feeling of this in your body.

If you cannot recall such a time,

That's okay.

Just open to the invitation and possibility of experiencing whatever you might need now,

In this moment.

Take in what you need.

It is there for you.

Experience these inner resources as accessible to you right now as you focus your attention inward.

Whatever you are feeling that is helpful,

Let these feelings sink in and spread through you like a warm light filling you through and through.

Take another moment and call to mind any outer resources that you might draw on.

Colleagues,

Family members,

Friends,

Organizations or institutions,

Pets,

Anything that might be a source of comfort or support for you.

Picture yourself surrounded by this support.

You are not alone.

Imagine what it feels like in your body to have this support in your life.

Let this feeling sink in and spread through you,

Filling you up from head to toe.

See yourself surrounded by the support of all of your outer resources.

Feel that support as it continues to sink into your body and become accessible to you.

Feel the safety and stillness of this very moment.

Come back to your anchor of breath as you sense each breath coming in and going out.

Feel the expansion of your chest with each inhalation.

Feel the contraction with each exhalation.

This natural rhythm and flow of energy in and out of your body.

Feel your feet making contact with the floor beneath you,

Connecting you solidly to the earth.

When you are ready,

Take several slow,

Deep breaths.

Feel slowly and completely.

Notice if anything has shifted or changed for you.

Come back into the room when you are ready,

Carrying with you your resources,

Both inner and outer,

And a sense of resilience within.
