Sometimes we need a little bit of protection.
We may be in a crowded place,
Full of negative energies.
Or maybe we're with a loved one who is a little difficult.
And that difficult loved one might trigger us and move us into reactivity with just a few words.
Whatever situation you find yourself in,
This short visualisation meditation may help you to retain boundaries and keep your vibration high despite your external circumstances.
Come into a comfortable seated position that could be on a chair or sitting on the floor.
Ensure you are in an upright position but use all the supports and cushions you need to enable you to find stillness throughout the practice.
Make any last adjustments to your seat now,
Then come in to stillness.
Feel your position on the floor or chair.
Feel the sit bones making contact with the ground or chair.
And feel the legs relaxing as you find the length in your spine.
This is your body,
The Anamaya Kosha or in English your food body.
It is one aspect of your being but to move deeper we need to be aware of the other aspects.
We need to feel safe and grounded in the physical body.
Notice how the body feels as you sit here.
Maybe it feels a little tight or maybe open,
Maybe stiff,
Maybe there is pain or maybe you're relaxed.
Whatever you find,
Just notice it without judgment.
All is welcome here.
Now take your attention to your breath.
The gentle inhale and exhale through the nose.
How does the breath feel right now?
Good.
Staying present,
Staying with the breath.
Now I'd like you to imagine an area 12 finger widths away from the edge of your body.
An area that is coming out from the crown of your head to around your arms,
Hands,
Down the body in the front and at the back and then into the ground.
This is your Dvada Shanta,
Your energy body.
Can you fill this area with light?
This can be any color,
Maybe it's a white light,
Maybe it's a blue light.
Whatever you need,
Whatever you feel works for you.
This is your aura,
Your energetic body,
Your space.
As you fill this space with healing light,
Have a sense that you are protected,
You are in a safe space,
You are loved and supported.
I'm going to leave you in silence now for a few minutes to breathe here.
In silence now for a few minutes to breathe here envisaging this healing light,
12 finger widths around the physical body.
Maybe you feel this light also brings healing heat to your body.
If you can,
Focus on the heat in the light now.
It is here to protect you,
It is here to support you as you navigate through more challenging times.
For our last few moments together,
Take the light now to anywhere you feel needs extra support.
Maybe that's your heart,
Maybe you have a part of the body that is sick or injured.
Or maybe you want to take the light to the monkey mind to calm.
You have the power to take the light to where it is needed now.
To where it is needed now.
We will slowly start to let the light fade now.
But know you can return to this practice anytime you need protection,
Anytime you maybe need a little support.
As the light fades,
Feel into the physical body again.
Notice where you are sitting,
Notice how you feel.
The light is within you at all times.
Sometimes our external circumstances or surroundings can push the light away.
But with a little awareness and attention,
We can reclaim our inner light and surround ourselves with its healing energy.
