Transcript

Come into a comfortable seat.

Take your time to find stillness.

If you need to move,

To fidget,

To adjust your position,

Then do so now.

So you can rest in stillness for the rest of the practice.

Place your hands,

Palms up on your thighs.

Close your eyes,

Or half close your eyes,

Just holding a soft gaze.

Breathing in and out through your nose,

Start to slow down your breath.

Don't strain to extend the breath.

Just go to where you can comfortably manage.

Allow the breath to be slow and steady,

Smooth and silky.

Feel the cool air coming in through your nose,

And the slightly warmer air leaving your nostrils.

Feel your sit bones making connection with the floor,

The earth beneath you.

Breathe into your sit bones.

Feel or imagine the breath rising from the base of your spine to your heart.

Now feel the breath rise from the base of your spine to your throat.

Breathe in and out through your nose,

And the slightly warmer air leaving your nostrils.

And then feel the breath rise from the base of your spine to the crown of your head.

As you breathe here,

Start to visualise a white light.

As you breathe in,

The light travels up your spine to the crown of your head.

If you find it hard to visualise a light,

Just focus on the breathing.

Now imagine yourself standing in front of a mirror.

What do you see?

Maybe you're judging yourself as too short,

Too tall,

Too fat,

Too thin,

Too old,

Too young,

Too inexperienced,

Too shy.

Maybe you feel that you can't do the thing that lights you up because you don't look the right way.

Perhaps you fear what others would say if you truly opened your heart to your authentic self.

The mind tells you a story you believe,

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Look into your eyes now and see the unique,

Special creation that is you.

Focusing on the seven main chakras,

The energy centres of the body,

We're going to use affirmations to detox our mind of limiting beliefs and negative self-talk.

These beliefs hold us back from being the very best version of ourselves.

As we focus on each chakra,

Each energetic centre of the body in turn,

As I say the affirmations,

Let the words fill your heart,

Not your head.

Try not to over-intellectualise the words.

We just want to digest the feeling,

The belief in our hearts.

Turning your attention back to the root of your spine,

Your sit bones.

Feel back into this area and see if you can visualise a bright red light at the base of the spine.

Breathe here smoothly and deeply,

Just noticing any thoughts or feelings that may arise.

If you find it hard to visualise the colour red,

See if you can imagine you're looking at a field of poppies as you breathe into the base of the spine.

Don't worry if you find it hard to picture the colours or the images,

Just focus on the breath.

As you focus on the root,

The Mooladhara chakra at the base of the spine,

Say the following affirmations out loud or to yourself.

I am safe and secure.

I have enough.

I have food in my fridge and a roof over my head.

Now bring your attention to the area below the belly button.

This is your sacral chakra,

Swadhisthana.

Visualise an orange light in this area or picture a beautiful vase of marigold flowers.

Breathe here.

And as you breathe into your sacral chakra,

Allow these words to fill your heart.

I am worthy of abundance and pleasure.

I allow myself to be passionate about the areas of my life that inspire me.

Then bring your awareness to the area just above your belly button.

Breathe here.

Visualise a beautiful yellow light.

If you're unable to visualise the yellow light,

Imagine the yellow of the sun in this area.

Breathing here,

Allow your total awareness to rest here in your solar plexus,

Your Manipura chakra.

As you breathe into your solar plexus chakra,

Allow these words to fill your heart.

I have the courage to follow my dreams.

I overcome my fears and limiting beliefs by trusting I am on the right path.

And then bringing your awareness to your heart centre.

You may even wish to bring your hands to the front of your heart.

Breathe here for a while.

And if you can,

Picture a green light or maybe a beautiful meadow of grass.

As you breathe into your heart chakra,

Anahata chakra.

And the affirmations for our heart chakra.

I am worthy of love.

I allow compassion for others to fill my heart.

Now release your hands back to your thighs and take your focus to the area around your throat.

The throat chakra,

Vashudha.

Picture a blue light here or if that's difficult for you,

Picture a clear blue sky on a summer's day.

Breathe into this throat chakra.

As you breathe into your throat chakra,

Allow these words to fill your heart.

I speak my truth.

I share my unique voice with the world without fear of being judged.

Now take your breath and awareness to between your eyebrows,

Your third eye,

Your Ajna chakra.

Visualise now an indigo light or a deep midnight blue.

Feel into this area.

Maybe you can sense your third eye,

Your centre of intuition and wisdom.

As you breathe here into your third eye,

Allow these words to fill your heart.

I calm my mind so I can trust my intuition.

I follow my Dharma,

My divinely orchestrated path despite what others may say.

And finally,

Focus on the crown of the head and visualise a violet or white light here.

Rest here with the breath for a few moments here at your crown chakra,

Sarasrara chakra.

And as you rest here at the crown chakra,

Allow these words to fill your heart.

Finding clarity in stillness,

I allow myself the space to connect with a higher wisdom.

I am infinite.

And then come back to focus on the breath from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

Allow some time here to reflect on what you felt,

What you thought as you worked through these main chakra energy centres.

Did you feel emotion?

Did your mind start thinking?

Did stories appear?

Spend a moment here in reflection.

Using these affirmations and this practice daily can help change your mindset.

And you may just notice everyday miracles start to take place as you let your negative self talk fall away.

Allowing yourself to truly be the unique,

Special creation that is you.
