The Storm And The Prairie
You can tell a storm is coming and you are powerless to stop it. Be as still as a wide open prairie. Watch the storm build. Be as still and wide, as grounded and open as a prairie. Hear the storm coming. The storm might fizzle before it gets to you. It might pass to the north or to the south. Or you might whisper, “It’s here” as it hits you with a force that turns you into a huddled, trembling mess. Be as still and wide open as a prairie. The bruise-colored sky will clear.
