I want to share a short practice that might feel kind of new to you.
And it has to do with where we place our center of awareness.
So most of us in the modern world,
As we walk around throughout the day,
Throughout our lives,
Hold our center of awareness right here at the front of our heads,
Almost like at the front of our forehead,
Very externally focused,
Right?
If I said,
If I forced you in the moment to say,
Point to your I,
Not your I,
I,
Your letter I,
Right?
Point to your I,
Where are you?
Most of us would instinctually go right here.
We're kind of like always right here on the front edge of life,
On the world.
But there's something interesting that can happen when we consciously shift that center of awareness to different places in our body,
In our energy body.
So let's do a little exercise here.
So if you can get still and present for just a minute,
I want to guide you on a little experiment.
So to start,
Just notice exactly where your center of awareness is right now.
So if you notice that it's not at the front of your forehead,
Go ahead and bring that center of awareness consciously to the front of your forehead right now.
And we're gonna start there so we all start in the same place,
Okay?
And just notice the sensation.
Notice how aware and present you are with your body when your center of awareness is there.
Which way are you tilted when your center of awareness is right here?
Okay,
Now I want you to consciously take that center of awareness and move it back into the center of your head.
Just move it back a few inches to the center of your head and place it there.
And now I want you to do the same process.
I want you to notice your body.
Notice your disposition in relation to the world.
And just make note of any shifts in perception.
We're gonna do a couple more.
Take that center of awareness that right now is in the center of your head and bring it down,
Down,
Down,
Down right here into your throat area,
The center of your throat chakra,
And just let that center of awareness rest there.
And just notice how your body and the world feels with your center of awareness right there.
Okay,
Let's do another shift.
Take that center of awareness and now move it down in to your heart space.
You can use your literal physical heart as a guide,
But I'm talking more about your energetic heart space here.
And just bring that center of awareness and notice how the world feels when that is your starting point.
You may notice a contrast,
Especially between being heart-centered here versus when your center was right up here.
Okay,
Just for experiment,
Let's go down one more.
Let's go down,
Bring your center of awareness down into your navel area,
Just below your belly button and see how the world and your body feels when that's the center of your being.
Okay,
Just making note of what you experience,
Okay?
And I invite you,
If you're doing this exercise with me,
Go back to the one that felt the most comfortable for you right now and see if you can carry on the rest of your day or at least the next couple of hours with your center of awareness in that spot.
And I have a special assignment for you as well,
A little bit of a challenge for you.
A little experiment.
I want you to experiment when you're having a conversation with someone of having your center of awareness resting in those different places.
What is it like to have a conversation with the center of awareness there in the center of your head,
Okay?
How about right here?
How about from that center of your heart space?
What is it like to interact with someone and have a conversation when you are actually in there?
It's interesting.
I invite you to treat this like a laboratory,
An experiment and see how things may shift or change for you by consciously moving your center of awareness to different places in your body,
